How can we improve the system to stop inters/griefers?

With the automatic system you can walk around griefing team, take other lanes cs, run it down, anything really to make your team lose and you will not get punished if you dont type anything in chat.

You are not separating true griefing from things that are not griefing.

run it down

Intentionally feeding is griefing.

take other lanes cs

Full stop. Nobody owns CS, neutral monsters, turret plating, kills, or the damn Poros on the Abyss. This is not griefing.

anything really to make your team lose

And I suppose if I check your match history, you have never contributed to your team's losses, yeah?

griefing punishment system is manual, not automated. only the chat and leaverbuster are automated.

take other lanes cs,

no one owns the gold, this isnt bannable.

run it down,

as long as it legitimately is running it down (not just running in expecting a 3v3 then your team begins to puss out) then just wait for the manual review.

anything really to make your team lose

there are things that make your team lose that arent actually griefing though, like just plain old getting outplayed and feeding.

and you will not get punished if you dont type anything in chat.

those are moderated in two seperate ways. griefing cant be automatically detected in 99% of cases, where as chat can be caught via a simple filter, which is what makes it seem like "chat is only punished". they punish both, just one is way easier to detect.

Best way to automate, and for all I know it might already be this way, would be to have multiple flags that can trigger if yes.

  1. Ban Ally Hover

  2. Unusual Summoner Spells (yes, I know that people are free to take whatever, but cleanse and ghost in combination will probably always raise eyebrows.)

  3. 1 death per minute. (This being multiple instances. 5 deaths by 5 minutes, flag. 6 deaths by 6 minutes, flag. Etc)

  4. Building way off meta. (By which I mean AP on Zed when he has 0 ap scaling. TFT excluded.)

  5. X deaths past enemy towers. (Needs to be greater than 1)

Some others and to trigger a punishment x amount of flags have to be present. Requiring a flag threshold should reduce the amount of false positives. Even then, this is not a fool proof system.

First step to remove inters and griefers; properly identify them.

I would say 80% of the people you identify as griefers / inters and trolls are not actually what you think they are. Which is why they go unpunished.

Yeah i dont know man. Ive never thought of a feasible solution, aside from Riot spending a millions a year to hire a team who just goes through reports all day. I doubt theyre gonna sink that kinda money into it, and it may even end up killing their company if they did. I dont know :/

I would have a gm system kind of like wow. On the scoreboard would be a contact gm button. Once contacted, a GM could enter live spectator mode and if an actionable offense was found could issue a 14 or perm after game.

There could also be a strike system set up for people that abused the feature, maybe 2 strikes and you lose the ability to summon a GM for 90 days or something.

The argument against is that there are thousands of games happening at one time so what would a team of say 10 GMs do. My counter would be, any system to address would be better then none and would garner some good faith that Riot is attempting to do something.
