Is there really a point to reporting behaviour to Support especially?

I just had the pleasure of playing with this individual. The post-game chat is representative of the in-game chat. Of course, there's a report function for hate speech and such, but there's always a chance that my report value has been lowered and so the system doesn't take it into account. (Hopefully others reported him as well.)

The next option is to report people through a Support ticket to ensure human review, but the last time I did so was when someone threatened to come murder me and my team mates after throwing out ISIS propaganda and hailing the attacks in Paris as justice that didn't go far enough.

That person still plays daily. I guess it was just a one-off occurrence and he just had a bad day.

I also note that there's no real option within the Support ticket system to report conduct over and beyond regular toxicity, even if Support usually gives the same copy-pasted answer when you do try to submit a report.

So I wanted to ask a Rioter on the boards involved in player behaviour: is there any point to reporting people through the Support ticket system? How are those handled? In general, what's the stance on above behaviour and the behaviour I described? Am I wasting my time reporting these people?

Because it sure feels that way.

I get the spiel about having a thick skin and using the mute option, but could you extend the mute option to the post-game lobby as well so we're not subjected to this kind of vitriol?

So I wanted to ask a Rioter on the boards involved in player behaviour:

Rioters don't frequently post here. If you need to get their attention, most posters(even Deep Terror Nami), put @Riot at the front of a the thread subject line to try and get their attention.

Save that information, and send a Support Ticket to Riot regarding this situation with that proof and other information. That is Hate Speech and it's a serious violation of terms and agreements.

Support will review the information. Make sure to attach the screen shot in the ticket. Support takes it very seriously.

Just a link to where a red replied to basically this same topic.

Player Support definitely reviews this information, but my expectation is that it can take some time due to case density and having to go through and check the player's logs to ensure it did indeed happen. Every Rioter I've spoken to about player behavior would immediately consider this to be of pretty much maximum severity, and they treat this kind of thing with zero tolerance whatsoever.

Anomander linked a great thread for context, here's the specific comment permalinked.

Seems like everyone enjoys the drama or else they would mute and leave the lobby. But people like to see what others say then complain about how it's toxic.

I hear you its bad out there. I was just told assisted suicide is legal in CA and that I should move there and he would buy the plane ticket. Reporting does nothing anymore.

Though there is a website (just look at my name but lol is leagueoflegends and add dotcom) and submit their game name and we can post it there so at least people will know who to watch out for.
