Confused.

So doesn't the system automatically detect racial slurs and other really offensive language? Isn't it zero tolerance for that? I'm trying to legitimately (not being sarcastic) understand how a player in a game I just had who very brazenly, without any attempt to hide it, said a full racial slur in all game chat and played at least one subsequent game? I thought these things were automatic, so now I'm really confused.

Automatically detect? No, a report still has to be filed at the end. Then depending on the queue, it is possible for a quick pop and game start before the system punishes. So it is possible to get in another game before receiving a punishment.

If there's lots of reports, or maybe the account has lots of past games to look at too (which the system may), then it may take a few minutes for the report to be reviewed. A few minutes is more than enough time to get into another game.

The system obviously also must go down at times for either planned or unplanned reasons, in which case reports would be stored and processed when the systems are back up. If they have server issues, that could be a few hours.

sometimes the system doesn't insta ban, and if you are in a game, i dont think it removes you until it is over

(which it should just end and give everyone a tie so no one say in a ranked game loses lp, because as soon as that person get the "your account has been suspended" message i dont think anything in the world would stop them from ruining that game for everyone)

Yeah I dont know why, but not all punishments are issued immediately after a report was filed.

Not automatic. You have to report. Not only that, its not a perma. ban but it goes according to the chat restrictions etc. I know because I reported someone for it via a ticket before and they are still playing to this day. Assuming that they only got a chat game restriction and so on.
