why do people like this even play league?

had a first time azir last game in my ranked promos. I asked him "why do people play mechanically complex first time champs in bronze" and he proceeded to write an essay about how much he wishes my "drug addict mother aborted me" while also telling me to kill myself several times in advance. I asked him why he was so angry and he proceeded to call me toxic before muting me. thank christ he got instant feedback afterwards, but goddamn. does anybody know any of these people? can anybody explain how these people function in society?

Some of us just naturally understand that the people we're playing with and typing to are real people with lives of our own and our own thoughts, feelings, and problems.

Likewise there are people who do not naturally make this connection, and have a hard time viewing the faceless words on a screen as people. When you don't see someone as a person it becomes very easy to say things you would otherwise not. In normal society they function fine because they can make that connection face to face or voice to voice.

Someone disco nunu'd my last game and I've had some time to think about it and I think I know why people do this kind of stuff. It's because there are no real consequences, from riot's leniency to the lack of real world consequences, there's nothing for them to worry about. If they get banned, just make a new account or hop on their smurf. I personally know people who are toxic because they know they can just buy another level 30 account for $5 from some third party website.

These kinds of people couldn't care less if people have a shitty day, in fact, their day now becomes relatively better than yours as a result of how tilted you end up. It also doesn't help that the community praises people like Tyler1 who perpetrates toxicity in their games.

The only real solution to toxicity,intentional feeders and cheaters would be to hand out ID bans to these kinds of people. This has been particularly successful with games such as Fortnite who can create some type of HardWareID and ban specific machines from ever playing the game again.

You seem to have aggravated him bud. If he wants to play that champ, abide by the summoner's code and let him play that champ. Don't question it.
