Why silver and gold players are treated like shit3.

Most players are told they lack the knowledge and basics of the game, which is understandable if we look at the percentages of how many players are listed as gold or even silver and below. The point I am trying to make lies deeper, though. SO many accounts out there say that if you have made it to gold you have at least a decent understanding of the entirety of the game, however, we see so many people flaming anyone who is gold or even high silver, why is this? IM(honest)O, if you have made silver, you have shown that you can surpass the flame and utter toxicness that is bronze, and you should be given and award for that at least. If you get to gold, everyone should know you have at least a basic understanding of the game and that you have maybe a flaw in one to three SPECIFIC areas of the game. To me, gold players show that they are willing to accept they have failures and are workng on them, even though they may still seem to have them, I can assure you they are working on them. So why? Why do so many players try to pull down gold players? Is it because they have just made it to plat and don't want anyone in the way of them making plat? Or is it because all of a sudden they see gold and assume from now on it is very mechanically skill based actions that will make them better? I am/was gold 4 and even though I feel like I should be higher, I tell myself I just don't know enough about the game to climb higher, so I research stuff. I guess the point I am trying to make is that make sure gold and silver players know that they have made a step in advancing in the game, but don't make them feel like complete shit, otherwise they will just talk shit and try to blame everyone else. I know this is very incoherent and totally organized (hint im a college student on a friday night), but for you higher elo players, just keep in mind, they will improve, if they really want to, you dont have to say anything, especially not against them!

As a Silver player, formerly much better to where I was gold ish, I've always been trash. If you take time to really learn the game I think you generally land plat on strong knowledge. I'm not sure why it's such a big deal though.

its still low elo no matter you look at it. and that "they will improve if that want to" they will and also will get out of scrutiny. till then whey need to endure and realize they aint there yet. on my diamond 5 account "hooks and hands". i just there and i still have a long way to go. i know im garbage compared to challengers and thats what im striving for to be that level.

people being toxic at low elo has nothing to do with anyones ability to climb. all you need to do is mute everyone at the start and play well

There is no magical rank where people stop insulting each other.

Well, if you watch Worlds Quarterfinals, you can see in the first 46 seconds of WE vs C9 Game 3 VOD that Sneaky was hoping that maybe after making it to Worlds again that people would stop insulting him and his skill.

And in interview after WE vs C9 game 5 (57:36 on the VOD) Mystic (combined KDA of 20/12/19, 885 Damage/Minute) was crying because he felt carried and he focused on one specific outplay where he lost that he felt defined that he was much much worse than Sneaky.

There is no skill level where people will stop insulting, if they're going to be insulting.

Mystic especially shows how focusing on a single incident is harmful and not representative of a player's skill.

To be perfectly honest, no ELO should be getting crapped on and loaded with toxicity. I mean, I can dream, right?

No player who is actively trying to do better deserves to be treated like garbage, no matter what their rank, tier, or division is. It's really difficult to win games or even care about climbing when you're being insulted left and right for things you can't control.

There will be feeders, gross people, and frustrated players who think they can control the game you're playing. At a certain point, one's own mindset needs to adjust and prepare for those things, and work well in spite of them. [sg-poppy]
