No chat = No toxicity

I think this game should be played without a chat, because most of the people use it to flame or be toxic through. I think pings and emotes are enough tools to contact other players. And riot made it easier to ping all the monsters like drakes and barons for the players.

What do you think about it?

No. Most people are fully capable of using chat without resorting to flaming and banter with team and enemy without blunt insults.

A small minor portion of the player base incapable of such things do not mean chat is worthless.

If their using chat to flame or be toxic then you can mute them. Why remove chat all together? That makes no sence.

Most people (myself included) can use chat just fine without flaming others, and even if chat was removed people would still find ways to be toxic without it. From Riot Tantram:

It really breaks down into two categories.

1.) Helping players reform 2.) Shielding others from the behavior, at a cost.

We used to issue chat restrictions that essentially scaled indefinitely.

We were able to determine that after a certain point the penalty no longer helped with reform. The 10-game and 25-game counts for chat restrictions are based on data that they were both light enough, and felt strict enough to encourage people to understand their behavior is unacceptable in game and change it.

We also saw that the players in this 'large restriction' category defaulted to gameplay altering means of harassing their team. It caused an increase in feeding and trolling.

The sample size of this population and time frame is huge. Essentially the time spanning from the introduction of chat restrictions to the introduction of IFS.

So my question for you is, would you rather have more feeders and less negative chat?

If someone isn't gonna behave properly despite being given multiple chances to do so then why shouldn't they be removed from the game? The line has to be drawn somewhere. Chat itself is not the issue, the people misusing it are.

It still doesn't stop people from spamming pings at you for making any mistakes, no matter how small.

I think your right that no chat = no bann of course. I mean a big part of what makes the game is fun is using the chat and communicating with players too. But if you can get banned for 14 Days for saying some bad words not that weren't even intended to be mean without warning. That is why I call it Bullshit the banning system.

I think pings are quite useful, it usually cuts out the toxicity and it can tell you what your teammates are doing. At the same time, chat helps you communicate with teammates and help make plays better.
