I did not expect ever a Riot employee randomly throwing a rage fit like this over any topic really. That is a pretty bad role model for the community that can be pretty toxic by itself at times. I wonder if and how Riot will react to this. Anyhow, the gamergate stuff is going on for quite a while now and is a heavily ideologically charged topic. If you want to get a reasonable synopsis of the whole thing, better do your own research and do not just take anything for the truth that demagogues on any side of this conflict have to say.

I think Totalbiscuit had the best description of it a year or 2 ago, but yeah it is best to look around all over.

Everyone had legitimate reasons for outrage during the time (the time of the event that set it off) but there was a lot of stupidity from all sides too.

If you do go out looking for info on it try to keep an open mind about it. Its something that brought out all the worst in SJW'ing and videogaming, but is pretty good food for thought on group dynamics and cultural standards.

Edit: I say some of this in past-tense because I followed it more around its powder keg moment but I stopped paying attention to it because its a pretty emotionally stressing thing.

To me the GG event shows that no matter who or what someone claims to be they can always be something totally different. That and that perspective is a a powerful thing. Its chaotic and destructive in an environment such as the internet where no one could possibly understand everyone that they chat with as well.

Get as far away from it as possible and just game. It's a idealogical minefield.

Also, take anything you read from Breitbart with a saltlick, just saying.
