I wonder who's idea was this, like are you people even thinking before doing this changes. Someone locks garen adc and no one wants to dodge because we know it is - 3LP may I ask what the hell I can do ? Like wtf ? Players are forced to play with some troll who locks in temo jgl or garen adc because dodge is - 3LP well done riot. This change is literally for trolls help them grow.

If they made it 0 people would just always dodge if they even thought a player was remotely bad and getting into games would require sitting through countless lobbies hoping that 1 of the 10 people there doesnt decide to dodge. Have you ever played on PBE when a new champ is released and people just dodge the second they dont get the new champ. It's an absolute nightmare.

If youre more than certain youre going to lose the game just dodge. It's much more worthwhile to dodge lose 3lp and requeue 5 min later, then play it out waste 30 min, lose 20lp and decrease your mmr.

Actually, a few seasons ago, they experimented with no LP loss and higher timers. Dodges actually got worse, so they reverted to -3lp and lower timers.

I dont understand how there is a flaw in this.

The dodge -'ve is fine- the first dodge is -3 lp, more or less saying "i choose not to take a loss, and will pay this price" - thats valid. I personaly dodge on my ranked account and its the only reason im not sitting in bronze or iron.

The scaling prevents abuse of the dodge and the trolling that would come of it, and I think that works.

If -you- would rather play with a garen ADC then dodge, then the onus is entirely on you mate. You can't do much but note the account name and submit a ticket, play the game and risk a loss, or dodge.

I want to say you are not special and dodging is a major part of this games ranked system.

I mean... you can either dodge and lose 3lp or play it out and lose 10-20lp.

Eat the LP loss?

I dodged twice just recently because the enemy team was gonna be Nasus Yasuo Yi Vayne Fiddle and just no.

And then i finally get mid after like 5 supp games and all of my main mid laners got banned.

Sometimes when I am bored, I will just troll lobbies over and over causing dodges.

I've gotten pretty good at it.

I like to think that I am single handedly bringing down the average lp one dodge at a time.

That being said, there has to be a penalty, or people would just dodge all the time (and most pros do anyways).

If players did not lose LP then they'd be motivated to dodge consistently over and over with the only down side of having a cool down to wait out. Dodge abuse is a very real thing and if LP was not at stake players would do it more and more just so they got the best team they were content with. There are always pros and cons to a system but the last thing Riot wants is for a player to simply dodge out on a team they are not 100% satisfied with. This was not the intent of dodging. While unfortunately Riot does not have any control over the choices other players make, you can most definitely report players for trolling or inting and Riot give them a justified punishment.
