Riot's selective punishing.

I've had one of my accounts banned now (no biggie i have many) but the reason its annoying is because the people who i flame with ( I say with because its always a mutual argument between at least 2 people, I don't just flame people for no reason) don't get anything purely because i'm not a child who needs to report everything. There's no context in the tribunal they only see what you typed and not the whole conversation. It's two people bitching at each other saying whatever. If other people don't like it they can easily mute. And the other thing is that everyone can say whatever they want in post game because that doesn't get seen. I've seen countless people saying things that are instant bans like "kys" and racial slurs etc. So while i have had my fair share of run ins, they were never me just saying things to people who weren't engaged in the exact same behavior. It makes no sense.

Makes no sense? Let me try to explain it so you can understand it.

When the system receives a report, the system will assign a toxicity score to that chat (0=No tpxicity). The new score will be added to your existing score, and when it passes a certain threshold one will get punished.

It is possible that you go into a game with a toxicity score of 99%, any mild toxicity will get you punished in that game. Whereas the other person could have a toxicity score of 10% , flame (without using hate speech) and at the end, his new score is 50% and he won't be pujnished for that specific game.

It doesn't mean he won't get punished down the road, and your report certainly contributed to his punishment.

Also, context really doesn't matter. The main question is whether one being reported was harassing / insulting others. There really isn't a reason why one would need to be toxic to another person.

There's no context in the tribunal

That's because it doesn't exist.

I don't just flame people for no reason)

It'd be better if you didn't flame.

It's two people bitching at each other saying whatever.

Flaming in a nutshell. No one wants to see that.

If other people don't like it they can easily mute.

And report so other people don't have to put up with that shit.

everyone can say whatever they want in post game because that doesn't get seen.

In the chat logs. You can get punished for pre-post game chat.

...but the reason its annoying is because the people who i flame with don't get anything purely because i'm not a child who needs to report everything.

If you don't report people, you don't get the right to complain if they get off scott free for doing punishable things. You let them off scott-free. If you don't like that you get punished but others don't...Guess what? Report them. Elsewise - again, you have no right to complain about something that you allowed.

I say with because...

The reason you say "with" doesn't matter, because you're still flaming, and flaming is against the rules.

There's no context in the tribunal they only see what you typed and not the whole conversation.

First off, the Tribunal doesn't exist anymore. Punishments for chat-related offenses are handled by the Instant Feedback System (IFS).

Second, fun fact! During the time that the Tribunal actually did exist, the entire chat log - ally, enemy, and all - was shown. People voted to punish the flamer regardless of if anyone else on the team was flaming too. Riot took note, and the IFS punishes solely based on your chat and no one else's, because you alone control what you say.

If other people don't like it they can easily mute.

First off, the Mute feature is a defense against toxicity, not an excuse for it. Just because the mute feature exists doesn't mean you get a free pass to break the rules.

Second, if they don't like it, they can also just as easily report you. And if you don't like that - well, you've got three options - 1. Don't break the rules in the first place - 2. Suck it up and deal with your punishment - or 3. Go find a different game.

And the other thing is that everyone can say whatever they want in post game because that doesn't get seen.

Wrong. Post-game and pre-game chat are monitored by the IFS, and people can get punished for breaking the rules there, too.

I've seen countless people saying things that are instant bans like "kys" and racial slurs etc.

Again, you're not allowed to complain that people are getting away with breaking the rules if you yourself do not contribute to seeing them punished. If you don't report, you don't get a say on other people's behavior.

EDIT:

It makes no sense.

What really makes no sense is that you call it "Riot's selective punishing" when in reality it's your selective reporting. The IFS will only move to punish if someone gets reported, so if you're not reporting, it's not Riot's fault that they don't get punished, it's yours.

Hello!

The IFS (Instant Feedback System) works on 4 tiers. The first is a 10 game chat restriction, then a 25 game. After that is a 14 day ban, and then a permaban. It doesn't matter what the amount of toxicity is, if you continue to be toxic, eventually you will be permabanned. Just as a head's up, when you're on the 14 day ban, all it take is one instance of validated toxicity to get your account permabanned. If you said "because the people who i flame with" meaning you most likely retaliated then continuing that will result in eventual perma ban. Good luck in your future games!

If other people don't like it they can easily mute.

Not how it works, friendo. If your chat is contrary to the rules of the game, everyone is entitled to mute and report you. This may come as a surprise to you, but there are three other people on the team that would probably rather not deal with you and your friend's bantz.

Hope you like losing accounts, because that's exactly what will happen if you don't knock it off. I suggest keeping your ironic flaming in a Discord room.
