It's getting to that point. Riot would rather ban you for standing up for yourself against these bullies than banning them for being toxic in the first place. I was 9-1-3 with Twisted Fate today when the score was like 18-10 today, and I was coming to gank bot lane when this guy kept pinging that rengar was down there waiting to make it 3v2 (without me there)... so I figured he was pinging for me not to ult so I start walking down there.

The adc Ezreal on my team goes in, gets caught, and ends up getting waxed and he literally trash talked that I walked down the lane and killed all 3 instead of carrying him harder for about 3 minutes straight. I could have talked about what a terrible player he is and how he shouldn't ping 500 times with all different color pings when I clearly showed I was about to ult in if he's going to get upset when I don't ult in. I could have talked about how he's getting carried and to stop mouthing off the person who is winning the game for him almost single-handedly. I could have acted just like him. Instead I said you know what, "you're right, it's my 3rd time playing twisted fate and that was awful.." "i'll do better for you next time bro." I can't tell you how many times I said "i'll do better for you next time bro", not in a smartass way but genuinely trying to calm the situation, but luckily the enemy team surrendered.

Happy ending? Nope. I report him for toxic and I don't get a message. Matter of fact I've played with over 2 dozen toxic players in the past week and I haven't got one message saying a single one of them has been punished. These punishments are a waste of time until you try to defend yourself against a bully, then Riot bans you.

If you are being a jerk in response to someone else being a jerk, Riot would rather ban you both than let either of you continue to create negative situations for other players.

You only get the "player was punished because of your report" message if your report is the last one before a punishment occurs, so it's possible--in fact, probable--that you won't be notified when someone you've reported is punished. Such notification would be the exception rather than the rule.

Or, don't break the rules and think you can justify tit-for-tat hostility and toxicity , because Hammurabi's Laws have no control here -- You do.

So what I said may have caused a little confusion (Sorry for that). If something happens while you are in a game you should definitely use the reporting feature at the end of the game. This is how it should always be done, what I was referencing was if someone sends messages outside of the game where you cannot report a player in client (client chat and client messenger etc) then a screenshot attached to a report ticket can be sent in. Especially if players are receiving threats of violence or death threats from others .

@Leblancster, no one is above the ToS and EULA of League.

Taking the matter into your own hands is what opens you up and legitimizes any punishment doled out to you, because you take the flamebait and full tilt of the face of the earth.

Not necessarily. It's important to remember that the message only shows up if the game you reported them in was the game that triggered their punishment. Which is, statistically speaking, less likely than your game being just another one in the case against them.

That doesn't mean your report was worthless - only that you weren't the metaphorical straw that broke their camel's back.

Hey can you ask riot to maybe make a check mark near the send report button? If you check it and the player gets banned within the next week you're notified. brought it up before but no one noticed.I honestly do believe it would make the community a better place. I'd enjoy knowing someone i reported got smited.

Honestly if he's worried about his rep or something by making a post asking us what we think about it he can say it was completely my idea to do so and that they can downvote my comment on his post if they don't like it.

Ok, there are 2 possibilities here. A) You weren't the last report. B) Your feelings get hurt too much and you report everyone, even those that aren't "toxic", so they don't get punished. I'm guessing B.

They've only been doing these for a few months now, and you only get this message if yours was the report that ended up giving the punishment. If your report counted against them, but then next game's report was the one that tipped them over, you wouldn't get this message.

I'm still waiting to get mine from the most toxic player I have ever played with. They don't get banned when I report them though, it seems that Riot only goes after people who stand up to bullies instead of taking their shit all day long.

(note: Nietzsche himself was also inspired by Ancient Greek tragic antihero archetypes; see also his first book The Birth of Tragedy).

He said that he could say whatever he wanted in pre game lobby and he would not get banned. He was extremely toxic from the get-go.

People who make death threats or ask others to kill themselves tend to get escalated quickly. Almost all of my report feedback pop-ups have been from people like that. You probably just caught them on their first time so it didn't instantly get escalated.

They'll be caught, Riot gives people chances, to redeem themselves, I happen to be one of the 0.006% that are banned for good. That is the ratio that was given to me. You really have to mess up big time, =/ and I did. But it works, so please, do not go toxic thinking it wont work and you do your own justice. just give it time.

You only see the message when you (and your teammates) are the people to report them in their last game right before they get punished. So if you report someone, and they get punished after someone else reports them next game, the next person gets the message, but you don't see anything.

This is the most satisfying thing in the game to see. When some rager or jerk ruins the game acting like a toxic waste of air for 40 minutes and you hit report... you rarely feel like it mattered. But every so often the Rito gods grace you with one of these and you laugh maniacally for five minutes straight until your girlfriend comes in and asks what the heck is wrong with you.

My point is... it rules.
