Reported, and receiving penalties, when I didn't do anything?

So, I was playing with an Ekko and Darius last game, who were extremely toxic. First of all, they were getting way to mad over a simple video game. But not yet insulting anyone, so I said "You don't need to be so rude." and then it erupted. They started calling me and my team mates "%%%s" "Morons" and "Shits" The Poppy and Ashe, however, did not at Toxic at all. They were nice and respectful, no matter what they were called. Yet, somehow, after the game, (Keep in mind, I didn't once utter a single insult) I reported Ekko and Darius for verbal harassment.

...Yet for some reason, I got the warning you get when a player reports you. ...Like, what?! Does Riot even read the reports? Should I even report anyone if these things aren't checked? I'm hoping the report system is fixed one day, because this is ridiculous, I received a warning telling me I should straighten up my act, when I was already doing exactly that! I wasn't the hostile/toxic one, they were! I never uttered a single insult, yet here they are using every single one in the book!

Please, Riot, fix the reporting system.

Those warning messages are triggered from getting a spike in reports against you. It happens before the reports are validated so it can be instant. The reports are validated before being used for punishments.

That message is just to let you know that someone reported you in that game. It serves as a first "Hey, you might wanna not do what you did last game because people didn't like it and if it continues you could be punished for it." kinda thing. It isn't a punishment and if it was unwarranted like you say it was, you have nothing to worry about.

Riot reads reports and stuff, false reporting RARELY results in any kind of punishment. They can't read every report immediately as it happens for obvious reasons so the message is just there to say you were reported and if you were actually toxic should maybe not be in the future.

A GM really needs to make a sticky topic about false reports.
