So I sent in a support ticket about a streamer that was possibly boosted...

Posting this to just to see what people's take might be on this.

So I played a game with a streamer one time. She mained ADC, so I decided to duo with her since I main mid and support.

She was hard stuck in Silver 1 she told me, not being able to rank up. Complaining to me about how hard it was to get to Gold and that she's an adc only type of player. I tried to help her win games, but we sadly lost our game. After we lost it, she took a break. I saw her back on trying to climb again, but without me which was fine. She kept losing and got demoted to silver 2. Everytime she played she was streaming.

A few days later I see her on again. I ask to duo with her so we can try to get her to gold, but this time, something was wrong, her way of responding was off. She declined which was fine, but it didn't "sound" like her. I checked her stream, she was offline. She usually is on when online. I don't think much about it. I log off, log back in a few hours later, she's still online. She's silver 1 near gold promos. I check her stream, offline. I check match history, shes on a huge win streak playing mid lane, something she never does... I write to her, no response.

About a day later, I see her on again playing mid, she's hit gold 5. Match history is just mid with really good scores. 14 kills with little deaths etc. Around 9-12 wins in a row. Now this doesn't really seem like she's the one playing.

Once she hit gold 5, she stops playing mid and I see her playing adc again and starts streaming once again. But since she's gold 5 like she wanted she just plays normals. She plays mid and adc, but she keeps losing again and winning some but not winning like that when she was on that huge winning streak.

Now if it was her playing those mid lane games, wouldn't she continue to rank up even more?

She must be getting boosted during those games, someone else playing on her account. Cause she didn't stream those games and she never played mid like that again after hitting gold 5. I can be wrong but I doubt it.

I sent in a ticket and got the usual "we will look into the account, but can't tell you what happens" reply. It's been 1 month and she's still playing (still gold 5) so nothing happened. So either it was her or she just got away with it.

I struggled hard to get to gold my first time, and it irks me to see her cheating to gold and get away with it.

Anyway, I tried to do the right thing and let at least Riot know about the strange gaming behaviour, but not sure if it was even looked at. =/

P.S. I'll provide screenshots to show the difference in game behaviour:

Some people like to play without the stress dog stream and of they play an off lane it's usually a one trick carry lane like when I want to vary hard core I'll go blitz mid or shaco top

Like Toshiai said, sometimes it's easier for some people to play without the divided focus of trying to stream and play. Especially now when people are trying to climb.

Try to keep in mind that the bans for boosting can come in waves. They don't necessarily happen at the exact moment that they are discovered. Because the punishments are so strict (i.e. permaban), Riot wants to be absolutely certain that they have an actual case of boosting, and not just a person having a really good win streak. They will look at the obvious things: role, summoner spell order, IP address, champions played, common builds, trinkets. You would be surprised how many times a player will come on here and talk about being banned and not know why, and then a quick look at their match history will reveal very obvious boosting. But Riot also looks at other things as well, like actions input per minute, that aren't so obvious and are much more unique to the player. They can tell if someone else is playing on that account.

If this streamer is actually being boosted, then it's likely that she will have her ranked rewards taken away in a few weeks when the next ban wave hits. But, there's always a possibility that it might be her playing, however remote the chance.

raises hand

Uhm.... Who cares?

She may say shes an ADC only player, but she probably played a few mid games and had good luck. There's not much wrong with that.
