Nothing is safe from a 9 man report

I got 9 man report for toxicity when I didn't say a single toxic thing in the game. The system doesn't work when people bandwagon and decide one person needs to be bullied the whole game like I was. And no I didn't retaliate with toxicity. I complained to the enemy team that my team was flaming me and they just bandwagonned with my team.

It's only a chat restriction at least, my team threatened to have me banned. However I'm not happy with the new auto penalizer.

Also I want to note that I did not get chat logs for that game I was just penalized with no evidence to support it.

As far as the system cares, 1 report = 9 reports. Something in your behavior is what triggered the system.

Your reports definitely do something, although I'll agree more feedback would be helpful. A valid report adds to a player's backlog of reports, and each valid report moves them closer to a punishment.

I see no chat logs so I can't agree that you, "didn't say a single toxic thing in the game". Previous observations of your behavior on the boards also leads me to be skeptical.

Contact support to get your chat logs if you didn't get them.

That's by design. You don't get notified every time someone you report gets punished. I think they may have decreased the notifications even more after some group went through trying to "ban bait" others and used the notifications like trophies.

Tell that to the mass of mindless sheep who keep spamming for reports. And when I tell them "1 report = 9 reports, and spamming to "Report x" is itself a reportable offence, falling under harrassment" The response I get is "Ur >insert rank here<, stfu u dont know anything about how reports work"

Good thing 9x reports don't do anything. So no, you did earn the chat restriction regardless if you got reported by one person or nine in that one game. The IFS picks up on consistent attitude through your time duration with Riot Service. Each report flags something if it's against Terms of Use. If consistent enough, you'll earn a penalty, depending on the severity of the offense. Like if you say something against the zero-tolerance policy, you can be instantly banned for 14-days.

But here, you've been reported enough times to get that chat restriction. So your so-called "9 man report" had very little to do with your penalty. Your penalty came from your consistent negative attitude, meaning you've been toxic repetitively enough to get that penalty.

So no, EVERYONE and EVERYTHING is safe from a 9-man report. However, ongoing toxicity isn't. Big difference.

But your overall attitude you've provided in the past shows that you're quite the toxic individual. So whatever you did for that chat restriction, you definitely deserved it.

Except there is no consistent attitude on my smurf account. Also they said in game they were 9 man reporting me. This is the single one game this has happened on my smurf every other game is fine. Better to back up your claims with evidence next time.

THINGS TO AVOID

Do not threaten or repeatedly tell a player you will report them. Doing so can encourage players who are already negative to continue their behavior. Whether they know they are being reported or not has no bearing to whether the system will act on them. But most importantly, repeatedly threatening or arguing with a negative player can end up derailing the game for everyone else and then open yourself up to reports and possible disciplinary action as well. Avoid negative thoughts and useless chatting with poor performing teammates! Focus on victory by muting the offending player and then reporting them at the end of the game.

Do not ask other players in the match to report the offending player. It only takes one report for our systems to review a game. Additional reports will not do anything for the offending player; however as mentioned above, it could open yourself up to a report of your own; especially if you are derailing the match by constantly demanding reports of other players.

Negative behavior is unacceptable regardless of the circumstances or who started it. It can be tempting to respond to negative players with negativity of your own. Our systems do not care who started the behavior and will treat each reported player based off the merits of their own case. The only way to handle these types of players is to mute them and continue playing the game followed by giving them a report at the end of the match.

The system punishes based on consistency x severity. Those games you thought were fine were not fine and were part of the review for your punishment, as it showed the system you had a consistent history of similar behavior.

The reform card only shows you 1-5 recent games as examples of unacceptable behavior, it doesn't mean you were punished based on that 1 game alone.

That's what would have done it, but it would have done so regardless of 1 report or 9.

At least you know first hand that complaining to the other team doesn't solve anything. Just mute whoever's flaming and move on.

'Ganging up on' someone via reports doesn't do anything. 1 report is the same as 9. More reports does not increase the chance of a game being reviewed. All it takes is a single report.

I can't believe what they say because it actually happened to me and if only one person reported me it wouldn't have done anything. Clusters are better indicators I don't think Riot is lying just not telling the full truth. Clusters of reports for something that didn't happen won't increase the chance of being reviewed I've expereinced this on my main it's onlT recently I've ran into issues with this system.

Almost half what I see is people who deserve it but there are plenty of people I see who also got wrongly convicted but there isn't enough of them for Riot to care at this point.

If you got chat restricted and aren't seeing your logs, you can relog from the client and it will pop up when you log in.

The whole "9x Report = Ban" myth really needs to die already.

Nine reports carry the same weight as one report. You know why? Because all the report system does it flag the damn game in question for review. Then it goes to either the Automated System, which looks for key words and phrases that are punish worthy or it goes to Riots enforcement team for human review.

TLDR: The report system itself doesn't ban you. It just tells Riot that you need to be looked into as a potential problem. If RIOT sees you as an issue, THEN you get punished.
