This happens way to often. Someone gets support, doesn't like it and picks an ADC and goes to town. I'm curious as to why, specifically for the Support role, there isn't a list of champions that can be played. If you're in a support role and you pick something thats obviously not support, you've done your team a great disservice. Why even play draft?

Riot doesn't have any rules saying which champ can be played in whatever position. You can play an enchanted in top lane and a marksmen in support if you wished.
Off-META is not a punishable offense.

Mostly because the meta isn't set in stone. If you want a support to play your preferred champion and play it the way you like, your best bet is to duo.

Clearly, the intent was for the second bot laner to be support.

Imperial Pandaa4 votesAnd you can support in different ways. The ultimate cc is death after all. Would you still have the problem if they had gotten a support item? For that matter, you could have gotten one to help with gold gen too. Only junglers got blocked from getting it (assuming they have jg item).
Fun fact, I don't actually get all that upset. If it was for a gank/roam, then take some. If I am bot, go ahead if we are hard pushing for a back. Hell, I encourage my support to help clear if it gets bad.
Don't try to blame me/us because you can't adapt to enjoy the game. Have been in the double bot situation before, didn't get upset though. Turned it into a challenge to try and get better at last hitting.

Yeah, because going 0/14 and taking 
as a replacement for boots on 
doesn't ruin the game for anyone. That's clearly "how the game is intended to be played."

You don't know what you are talking about, you don't know the intentions, and it's not the fault of the supports you feed in over 3/4ths of your games. Don't strike at others in this thread because you have no room to do so.

Dnyarri4 votesLast season I played Pantheon support when I was autofilled. Was it good? No. Did I manage to win games with it? Yes, and more than you'd think. I've seen Keegun do it in challenger and people usually didn't complain.
Better let people play what they want. Most players you meet want to win, and even if you dislike their picks, you're probably better off letting them play a champ they know than first time Bard support.
People can play whatever they want.
