If my teammates refuse to surrender a un-winnable game, I don't need to play.

Because there are those moments where you can make the come back of the century. Just leaving the game because people wont surrender is just being a sore sport and unsportsman like. You aren't going to win every game you play most likely, and sometimes people want to just finish a game, there is no shame in that.
This guy is salty because he decided he doesn't want to dedicate AT LEAST 1 hour of his time to the match.
Even then youre wasting someone eles is time, and thats not fair for them.

You know, if Kobe was like "guys, we're down, but you aren't quitting. I guess you can go play 4v5 then", then Kobe would be out of the league within a year. Instead, he's one of the best players of all time, first round HOF.
Maybe single player games are more your cup of tea. You can go AFK whenever the hell you want in those. But here, you explicitly choose to play a game that has other people involved. Don't play multiplayer games if you aren't willing to play a multiplayer game.
While we respect your opinion that the game's unwinnable, we also have to respect your teammates' opinion that the game isn't over and shouldn't be given up.
Even if we disregard that aspect, there hasn't been an exception listed to tolerate inactiveness as far as terms go, so your reason, cause, and circumstances have no impact on the consequences of going afk.
