Why is everyone so against new ways of playing champions?

Recently, I've been playing some off meta champions in the jungle, such as Lulu and Xayah. I enjoy this because it's different from the assassins and tank meta we constantly see in the jungle as of late, outside of the occasional Kindred. And when I do play these champions in the jungle, I tend to get a lot of toxic remarks from my teammates who then praise my skill after we win the game because of a clutch play I play. While sometimes it doesn't work and I feed out of my ass, at the end of the day, Leauge of Legends is just a game; whether or not you win isn't a definitive factor of if the game works or not. It is about having fun, is it not?

Opinions?

As long as you're testing this shit out in norms, I see no problem. Breaking the meta is fun!

I just hate how if you are playing a meta champion it is just a bad game but if you break the meta and have a bad game it is your fault that your team lost and people report you.

Its because of Funda-Meta-lists. People who are so stuck on the meta they stop thinking for themselves. Anyone who has an individual strategy and a way of playing that works for THEM, But HASNT BEEN APPROVED by their LCS META BIBLE, is treated as a heretic. Lately I have actually been doing good playing a Static Shiv on Nami. (Electric Eel Build) It may not work for everyone but with my playstyle it works for me. However because it doesnt have prior approval, I am labeled as a troll and my adcs will spend the entire game throwing a temper tantrum because I am not "building meta"

Instead of thinking "this is new, How do I adapt and use it to my advantage to win" they would rather throw a tantrum "OMG U TROLL UR NOT BUILDING META!!! REPORT REPORT!" They stop thinking for themselves, adapting strategies, and instead just going back to their meta bible to make the decision for them. and this causes me to lose games. Adc sees me building Non-meta rather than move on, adc throws a complete hissy fit adc afks "Im done, support trolling" leaves support (me) to 2v1 bot lane Match is lost.

That depends. In normals I don't care. In ranked I'd prefer you play something you've played before. If you won 3 normals games in a row with your off meta pick then I'd be okay with it. If you just picked urgot jungle for the first time ever in the history of the universe I'd be a tad bit pissed if it were ranked.

IDC if your pick is off meta. I care if your pick is going to make the next 20 minutes a 4v5.

"Why is ~~everyone ~~ Riot so against new ways of playing champions?"

I fixed it for you.

Because chances are this "new way" is going to fail. Just not going to work. Lucian mid, for example, people play it and feed every game.
