Why does Thecurator or actual reds have to be the only ones who have to review a deleted thread?

Are the other mods just bots who responds to reports? Seems like every time we have to wait for sleeping beauty to actually come out and review each challenges brought forth by the community directed at the moderation team. This is fishy as hell.
