Toxicity & Its Impact on Community Morale

Let me first start by saying that I am not a perfect summoner, far from it, actually. I have been chat-restricted before, reported, and have unreasonably raged at this game many times in the past. Since season 4, I have grown more or less toxic depending on the time. I consider myself to be a somewhat reformed player, but I know that I occasionally let my attitude get the best of me, and for that I apologize. I would however like to address the overall issue with toxicity in the League Of Legends community, specifically here on the boards.

Ninety percent of the posts made on here seem to some type of complaint about balancing issues, or "WHY I'M DONE WITH LEAGUE OF LEGENDS." Honestly, I've made those kinds posts as well, and they've typically been well-received. However, when I'm positive in my message, it's nothing but downvotes. Why is that? Is The Community literally mentally ill? Are so many League of Legends players so sociopathically depressed that they want to exude nothing but destructive anger and malcontent? Look guys, RIOT fucking tries. Don't you dare tell me that they don't. They are doing the best they can with something that they truly and deeply love. Are they perfect? No way in hell, not even close. But the point is that they put in EFFORT to this game that they give us for the humble price of FREE: $0, people.

Look, I understand everyone's frustrations, but if you're truly not having fun with this game, maybe it's time to leave. If you still love this game, or you still love what it used to be, then let's come together and make this community something to be proud of once again. summoner 11 summoner 14

Does anyone see the irony?

The Community literally mentally ill?

This is going to be a constructive thread, I can tell already.

I actually made a post on here too asking people why they were so negative to riot. I got a few comments and not one flamer, just a person trying to explain why this was going on. I was actually kind of surprised!

I think its the culture of reporting everyone and everything being toxic. I think people should be expected to rely on the mute button. If people can't report people, then there will be more incentive to mute imo
