Now that rewards are out, what is the punishment for the sudden flux of "Trolls"

Dear Riot,

With the rewards out and the consequences of "trolling" removed, what is riot's next step in reducing the amount of rage quitters and so on?

For example I just hit plat (sadly I couldn't do it in the given time because of work) and in my last 6 games I have had 2 afk's on my team, 1 on an enemy team (2 definite rage quits and 1 that was possibly just poor connection), and 2 people intentionally feeding because they didn't receive the role they wanted. This caused me to lose 4 games and win an unfair game due to the enemy team's jinx leaving.

Here is what is going on if you are not aware:

  1. Like I said before people have their season rewards now so they don't care about their games now
  2. Banning was never a sufficient process because almost every player has a "smurf" (my best friend has 3 smurfs.)

My suggestion is that players have a "vanilla folder" in which all of their bans, reports, etc. are filed. Upon receiving these bans they progress themselves to having their account banished. Is this harsh? no, not at all. Here is why, Riot has a code of conduct in which the game is to be played, and correct me if I'm wrong but you sign a contract digitally that states that you will play within the Code. If the code isn't being held by one player with repeated offenses why keep banning them, if it hasn't solved the problem the first 3 times then what is going to solve it the following times.

So, Like I said, this vanilla folder will keep their bans and reports on file, they progress themselves to a banish after an amount of bans, Banish = account deleted. I think this would reduce Bad mannered players because even if they have a smurf, the chances are they are going to have the same attitude on that smurf and eventually that account will be banished as well...The player is left to two options;

  1. Stop playing league of legends

  2. correct their behavior to suit the code of conduct

You might say "banishing accounts will affect your income and number of players" I don't think that is true, I think players that love your game will take option two and change their attitudes, and the ones that stop playing will bring newer players in that will find the game more enjoyable.

Surely you realize that League of Legends is famously known for having one of the worst communities to play with, I can't count of my hands and feet how many of my friends quit playing because they said the community was unfriendly at all levels of play. If the community got better I think those players would come back.

Hope you read this riot, Bigg Fuddgee

Well, punishments work on a 4-step escalating system now.

  • 10 game chat restriction
  • 25 game chat restriction
  • 14 day account ban
  • Permanent account ban

While preseason is a pretty shitty time for trolls, they are still working themselves to a permanent ban.

I don't really think "most" players smurf, though.

Chat Bans. Low Priority Queue (or whatever the queue with a significant delay is called). Temporary Bans. Perma-bans.

Also, at this point I'm pretty sure that LoL has a bad community because it's a MOBA. I don't think any of them have a particularly good community (though I will admit that I haven't tried HotS, so I can't comment on theirs).

Something about placing you on a team with 4 other random players who you depend on (and who depend on you) for a 20-50 minute game inspires toxicity.

I don't have much to add to this except to say that this was a problem for me recently for a few weeks before the season ended. It could be just because its normals and no one cares since its suppose to be causal play but frankly its really frustrating. So seriously, what's going to be done about this because it's obviously a problem. People are taking advantage of the fact that there is no harsher punishment for purposefully being AFK or rage quitting and the rest of us, even in normals, are sick of it. I really want to enjoy this game with my friends and its hard because its hardly been a fair match these past few weeks. Every other game we get an AFKer or the enemy team does. Its sad and its enough to make me want to quit. I don't even want to know how bad it is in ranked..

The reason a lot of people are turned away from this game is because of how awful and toxic the community this game has. If the toxic people are removed, a lot more people will be more inclined to come (back) to this game.

personally i think people should use the mute button and only afking/feeding should be reported. then you can afford to look into every case and ban people quicker.

Here's something that is going to be very unpopular opinion but, hey I usually say the unliked things on here !! LOL

If there is a issue with people getting toxic right after receiving their awards then make a time limit after season ends and pre-season starts and if someone gets a 14 day ban --take away those borders and skins !!

At least this way, when I read about how unfair Riot is for Not giving a Reward, then the poster might have a good reason to complain. lol

Are you not liking my ideal ? Well, neither am I but if the new reform system doesn't work then this is something to think about. Punishment are meant to hurt, in fact they only work if it is unpleasant :)
