I've noticed a certain superiority and toxic personality around higher honor ranks.

Most games the people with high honor are toxic and it confuses me.Last game a syndra and a fiora dou queue both honor level 5 both toxicly flamed me all game long for going zoe support.I admited in chat I wasnt doing best and ill try better next time. They kept wailing on me flaming me and being jerks to me the whole game.I had a ezreal adc who hasnt played league in a year and I was like "Ezreal next time go klepto btw its super op rn" and they took it as flaming and started this whole thing up again with constant verbal abuse. The reason im saying this is why??? Why do people with high honor levels act so much better I mean im honor level 1 myself getting a punishment after a similiar case where I was getting flamed for going an out of meta pick (something i do way too often being honest but the meta is 30 champs so I mean...) Has anyone else seen this?

it's an ego thing

It's a combination of 2 factors.

  1. The subjective assessment of behaviors (i.e. What I'm doing is ok, the real toxicity is what others do).

  2. Confirmation bias. Anytime you see someone with a high honor level being a jerk, you use that as a confirmation of your (incorrect) assertion.

The reason there are people having higher honors is twofold.

  1. They get honored more often.
  2. They haven't lost their honor (by receiving a punishment).

Your assertion is in fact the opposite of reality. If these people were MORE toxic, they would get reported MORE often and would lose their honor more than the toxic players.
