People using lag switches and hacking other players too…

I keep getting attacked on my computer. It keeps shutting of specifically during league of legends games. People get mad at me, and that makes me angry and we start fighting and then I conveniently get my computer shut off. My PC shuts down, my internet keeps going out. I'm definitely being attacked by people who play this game, and I wonder if anyone else is experiencing this. It happens too often. I know people have pingspikes like up to 1000ms... people getting randomly disconnected. It's all too convenient for me to brush off as a conspiracy or coincidence. It's definitely happening to me, and I'm sure I'm not the only one, which is why I'm here to talk to the community about this behavior. I want it to stop happening to me, and I am trying to get help from Riot by contacting them. I need their help especially right now, I'm no hacker or DDos'r or lagswitcher or cheater. I can't really fight this at all. I need Riot's help, and maybe even the communities help if they're willing to. I just want to be able to play through a game, and not get my PC shut off. I know it's not my PC now...people just hate me because I'm stupid or something. I don't know. I do have a lot of enemies, and I understand that. Still, though...doing this to get rid of me isn't right. No one should be removed forcibly...from playing a game or hacking or giving viruses to them to make their computer get fucked up. It just isn't right and I want to help it stop. I want my life back, and this sucks dick. Please if anyone can help stop this shit from happening to me, or just in general. Please please please help. I hope this is the right place to ask. _daniel

the reason i say this is if you talk shit, you will get shit and muting is dumb when you need communication in ranked games

I'll ask one question and hopefully the reason is clear: Do you value the time and possibly money you've put into your account?

Also the 'communication is important' defense has been debunked many times. With the smart pings and ability to ping cooldowns and other critical info, you can communicate anything you need without having to type. Most ranked games I play, barely anything is said in chat at all, but there's ample communication happening via pings.

your bullshit troll answer hasn't gone unnoticed. the fact of the matter is that there are a lot more cheaters than there used to be. you answering 'just mute them' will not fix the issue of some dildo sitting in his basement turning on a lag switch that riot games isn't interested in fixing because it doesn't generate revenue for them. your answer is merely fodder for the fire; you're instigating and antagonizing. this was a post about lag switchers and ddoser and players using your public ip address to remotely shut down your pc. if you believe that muting people will fix any of those issues, then i pray i never have to work with you on summoners rift^^

First off, why necro a 9 month old post?

Secondly, have you and the OP never lagged it disconnected before? Lag Switches are literally useless in League because your character doesn't move or attack without talking to the server first. If your character is moving/attacking while you're disconnected it's because you issued the command before DC or you're set to Auto Attack nearby enemies and the enemy walked up to you.

A lot of DDOS was due to Skype letting the world know what your IP address was, but supposedly Microsoft fixed that issue. Also a literal shut down of your computer via your public IP address shouldn't be possible, since your public IP address is the address of your Router, not your PC.

I'm not saying they're aren't people who cheat at League, but both you and the OP seem to be having other issues.

i honestly don't think so dude. you're full of shit no joke. that's not me talkin shit to you... I just know that I'm not just noticing when I'm angry. From now on, angry or not I'm reporting every single cheater i come into contact with. My issues are my own. I know what they are. There's a big difference in that understanding on my end. What you are saying is actually insulting to my intelligence. TO say "im just mad and i think things are happening" is really dismissive. It won't help, and it wont solve any of these issues... like people cheating, and using scripts and programs to fuck people up. Making friends with cheaters, aint gonna fix any of my problems. i have to make enemies. that's just the way it is. They're definitely not my friends. Like, wat do? stop playin? uninstall? like, how can you stop fighting with other players if people start fights with you and it's against your morals or code to not allow them to talk shit? Like, you gotta fight back man. you can't just mute. I GOTTA. it's part of what i have to do. me being punished for this is out of the question. I did absolutely nothing wrong here.

Actually, it solves all your problems. Cheaters don't hack their friends. That is the opposite of "friend". Moreso, if you have a hacker friend, they can hack back.

Muting does not defend you against described illegal actions. Muting does not defend you against calling FBI to raid you to get rid of you.

Totally different scenario. We're talking about an online game with total strangers. There is literally zero real threat to you if people start to antagonize you online. Of course if you've done something illegal and the FBI shows up to investigate, there are quite clearly severe life-altering ramifications on the line.

Why you do not say the same for those who initiate those fights. I cannot stand moderate people who defend the wrongdoers and blame the victim, as there has to be reason why victim is attacked. Bullies does not choose victims without good reasons, and there is always two way street even if there is none. Moderate people do lots of things to uphold self-delusion that nothing wrong happens, and all wrongs have good reason.

And yes, I'm naturally going to question such wild assertions as those made in the title and the OP. Such tools, if they do exist, are not a widespread thing (or at least were not at the time this thread was made? I haven't played in a few months). The OP would either have to be playing with/against the same few people using those tools over and over again, or else the tools would be widely known and many people would have been seeing this happening once every few games.

I am sorry, but we are not. Both scenarios are due over-competitive situation. The calling of FBI raid is act of vengeance, and attempt to make somebody made you appear bad hurt. Most of the time flaming is just the same. Kids try to do all they can to blame and hurt others to avoid the annoying feeling they failed.

Words are also life-altering. Words even in the net does not exist without affecting you. And the situation I said is worst expression of the problem, but it is still same problem. I have noticed that most people who do not want to analyze things gets into the pit trying to separate every event from other events of same kind. Please, stop doing it, and try to figure out similarities to understand phenomena.

And fighting other players are different thing. Fighting can mean arguing. HE did also state that he is not initiator of those fights. You, like almost every moderate person, are trying to blame victim fighting in self-defense as he is making event you try to ignore visible to you for it. Try to learn to figure out causalities. Always blame initiator more than victim. I argued your point that muting works. it does not, as it only hides the problem. The flamer continues to ruin team spirit. You are defending bullies and initial flamer by telling people continue with Riot advice to mute, as that gives two signals: You signal to the victim he is alone and part of the problem, and to the bully that you give bully silent support. The latter is the reason why you should never ever comply to the attitude to silence the victim as it makes you uncomfortable to witness bullying.

This is discussion, and thus I can refer to something not referring to Original Post. For some reason people who have taken really rigid stance and fighting to win argument, and thus violating all rules of arguing, want to limit talk. Stop it. IT only makes you appear unskilled and uneducated.
