Put this puppy in google translate and you get this:

Hello everyone:

We will change the honor requirements for end-of-season rewards.

Earlier this year we changed the policy of end-of-season rewards so that they depended on honor instead of recent penalties. During the last weeks and months, we have received comments about how unpleasant it is to get down to honor level 0 or 1 due to a chat restriction during the last days of the season, so we will offer the unique opportunity to receive rewards from the game in February 2019. It works as follows:

If you have only received a chat restriction this past season and your honor level is 0 or 1, you will have the opportunity to go back up to honor level 2 until February 11, 2019. If at that time your level of honor is 2, you will receive all the rewards that you have justly won with blood, sweat and tears.

This does not apply to any other type of more serious penalty, such as 2 week suspensions, use of bot programs, manipulation of the ELO (boosting), cheating or permanent suspensions. You will not meet the requirements if you have received additional penalties other than the chat restriction.

It is possible to raise the honor level in that period of time. It can be achieved only by playing a few games a week whenever you play to win without ruining the experience of others. This only applies to your qualification level of 2018. So, even if your level varies, you will only receive the rewards based on your level in November.

To be clear: we will maintain the honor requirements during the following qualifying seasons and the results of this exception could be useful if in the future we decide to make possible adjustments to the experience of honor levels 0 and 1.

As always, give us your opinion about this change and, if you still have honor level 0 or 1, see you in February!

Ignoring the potential sketchiness of it, I frankly disagree with the idea of cutting slack to punished players - even if it's specifically Chat Restricted players.

In previous seasons, they've never let up on people who got punished around the end-of-season deadline. The rules were clear (if arbitrary before Honor 2.0), if they got punished, they lost their reward eligibility.

And now, with Honor 2.0, Riot has made the requirement for end-of-season rewards impeccably easy, while still retaining that basic principle - get punished at the end of the season, no rewards for you.

And on top of that, they've been very, very transparent throughout the entire year, making numerous posts/announcements that end-of-season reward eligibility would be tied to Honor Level 2. There were at least four posts across the year explaining it.

And yet, despite being perfectly clear throughout the year and having a requirement that isn't arbitrary...I don't understand why they would consider being even more lenient, and allow Chat Restricted players a chance to earn back reward eligibility. It doesn't make sense.

It could just be an EUW thing, it could probably be a modest experiment here at the tail-end of the year, I've no clue, but speaking honestly, the whole idea just doesn't sit right with me. And I don't know if that's just because "punishments = no season rewards" has been so longstanding that it's just ingrained into my head, or that I'm just set in my ways and loathe the idea of punished/dishonorable players getting undue rewards, or what.

But, all the same, I don't like it.

big if true

Wow! If this is true and applies to all regions then... Thank you Riot for giving players who only made one foolish misstep an opportunity to fix it!! I can definitely appreciate this! :D!!!

@Riot could a red post please validate this?

Doesn't make sense but I guess some people will be relieved.

An Esports lead is very unlikely to be posting about that subject.

Oh way to let out the good news after the season's over. I stopped climbing to get to gold knowing I wouldn't get the rewards. If you guys had let out this news earlier I would've actually made an attempt and effort to get back to gold. -__-

So will we get the rewards on February 11, or will we get them earlier if we get honor 2 earlier?

As someone who relentlessly funposted in opposition to the current system, I hereby declare a moral victory. You may now kneel at my feet as the unquestioned god of this board.

Also I wasted $50 on a server transfer 🤣😂😥
