Reporting people for not playing their roles

There should be an option to report people for not playing their chosen role in draft pick. It's seriously crippling in ranked to play with a support who refuses to be one or a mid that's going adc.

Me being in bronze/wood tier, I suppose troll picks are to be expected but really there seems to be no end to it. A penalty of some sort or temporary ban from ranked would be a sufficient punishment.

According to a riot email response I received after submitting a ticket on this kind of issue I was informed that it would make it a negative gaming experience for the trolls........ Seriously riot ... seriously?

Reviewed your complaint and it sounds like your shit out of luck. Good luck playing endless amounts of matches and we hope it will prove to be as frustrating as it sounds. Say, have you bought any of our skins or bought a new champion lately??? I'll bet that will help you get out of bronze 4. Riot sincerely wishes we could help you by banning the toxic trolls that are rampant at your level but we just cannot do that. Think of all the extra time and money you will spend on our game if you have to play 5 x as many games to get into your promo series. Half the time, our new and improved matchmaking system pairs you with people who think their mouse is a microphone, feed intentionally and blame you, or throw so hard its not possible to win. We firmly believe these outstanding summoners are ~~the number one reason RIOT makes money ~~ the backbone of our community. Remember, if you so much as insult one of these ~~giant piles of garbage ~~ valued members of our community you will be banned. Um, in the end it's a game. Role selection is there for guidance. Top/mid players know they will have to compete with the auto-team compiling system, so support will sometimes have to be in the second role. No one -really- cares wtf you think is just in the form of a meta. A meta is not a requirement in league of garbage or any other moba. This will never go your way, people will do what they want for as long as they want, especially this terrible playerbase you tribunal fanatics have created.

Depends entirely on context. Remember, lanes are different than team roles :V

If someone wants to go Graves mid, that's fine (alternately, the bot player may choose to play an APC rather than ADC if they want to keep a good hybrid of magic/physical damage and they don't own Corki or MF. Bot =/= ADC). If someone is building crit+AS on Katarina, that's another thing entirely.

Just treat it like the old system, compensate, because an in lobby report system is just an idea. Riot has not given any news about if they will release one or not. There are just as many cons as there are pros in having one. So no need to suggest what has already been addressed hundreds of times before you. Just wait patiently to see what is to come in the near to far future.

Just report them for something like unsportsmanlike conduct, say in the description that they didn't take their intended lane, and they'll see that they weren't in the right role and ban them unless it was stated in the chat that the two roles were trading(in which case it wouldn't be reported, obviously).

I hold no opinion regarding this matter, but I doubt this'll do anything at all, since ppl will simply put fill as their 2nd role to avoid consequences.

So when am I not doing my job? When does laning phase stop? Think of the false reports angry toplaners give because "jungler never ganks!"

if I as a support push midlane turret, am I not doing my role?

The fun thing about this game is that you do not have to stricktly play one role.

Riot doesn't care. Any concerns you have with proof or is legit they spin it on you. There as toxic as the toxic players. Been there with them. If you pick your 2 options then you should honor the placement. I. Get players so many times try to take me lane in selection. I say no but they pick a champ for my lane. Example I had mid lane. This person had bttm. Instead of asking me he was telling me he is taking my lane. I said no. He picked yas and sat in my lane. I get this all the time. I was smart and took ashe and went bttm. Trolls.
