is it possible to go down the punsihment tier?

I was punished for intentional feeding on January 1st 2016 and have been clean ever since (even reached honor 5 quickly, reformed I say!), so just curious, if I intentionally feed again do I get permanently banned or a 14 day ban again as I've heard that it's possible to go "down the tiers back to good standing" over time?

Like, I'm not going to int again just to check, well I won't int for any reason in general but I really wanna know if it's true or just some sort of myth.
