problem with the punishment system

a big problem with this system is that it takes like 100 games of toxicity before you get hit with your first chat restriction. but then you are marked. and after you are marked, 3 mildly negative games later you can be permanently banned.

thats why we see a lot of these 'wtf permabanned' threads. most of these chat logs are a huge step down in toxicity for these players. they got away with so much worse for a long time and then suddenly when they are trying to behave themselves, thats when the ban comes.

and they see much worse toxicity from other players all the time. but since these players havent been marked yet with their first punishment, they can get away with it. its all very inconsistent and confusing.

Hmm max 2 game with harrasm and insult and you usually get a report from riot saying you should chill the fck out and everyone has a bad day and after this its chat restriction or ban .

Eh, i've had my share of chat-restrictions and finally learned this:

  1. Word choice is extremely key. - What you say is way more important than how you say it since its an automated system mostly.

  2. You don't need to be negative in any situation. - Even if someone is blatantly trolling/feeding, you don't gain anything from yelling at them and calling for obvious reports is not only breaking the rules but is also kind of "Duh.", if I am your enemy and see your team mate feeding, I know the report that. I don't need you telling me that. Also, you flaming them or going into all chat seeking support is just as annoying as the troll player, and most likely will draw reports

  3. "Defending Yourself" is not the same as "Flaming because they started it" - You're more than welcome to make your point and defend yourself, but name-calling and flaming your team mate in return isn't going to help you and 90% of the time, isn't going to affect or change them

After taking these things into consideration, I haven't had a chat-restriction in nearly a year.
