@Galacius Your illegal censorship on PB board of differing opinions is disgraceful.

U GOT WRECKT LOL·2/18/2018, 12:53:33 PM·2 votes·773 views

The discrimination you have shown is not only appalling, but bordering on illegal censorship. It appears that you became overcome by a seething rage because one of my posts had a factual statement of how Obama gave rise to this "offended" culture and how this culture is evident through the report system. I am sorry that you are still mad that Hillary lost, but just because I don't coddle feeders or approve of catering to the offended does not mean you can censor anything you like for your own personal gain.

You removed my posts which give my OPINION on whether a ban was deserved or unwarranted for individuals, posts which gave suggestions to "stop worrying about who you are going to report each game and focus on improving and you will climb," and apparently me referring to kids as "kids" is dreadful in your eyes(yes, offended by the word "kids").

First off, every single one of my posts you removed were not toxic in any way shape or form, they are a differing opinion than yours. They were just that, my opinion. I never once called anyone out specifically by name or responded with a personal attack. I gave my opinions of the ban system, which do consist of me thinking it is TERRIBLE and empowering people to act “offended” to everything they can. I also gave a FACTUAL description of the majority GROUP of people who support this system, blindly, and report every little thing that could possibly be misconstrued as offending them. My point is plain and simple, people need to man up and stop being offended by everything.

Secondly: What you are doing, removing and censoring posts that you disagree with, for your own personal self-gratification and gain, is not only discriminatory and borderline illegal, but it is breaking “the golden rule” that you felt the need to try to lecture me about. You are censoring different opinions based on your own biased beliefs. With as much encouragement as the company, Riot, gives about diversity as well as encouraging different opinions, I highly doubt they would be happy to see you removing posts simply because they have a different opinion than yours. It has been brought to my attention that chances are that you are an unemployed college student volunteer, so I realize we all make mistakes.

I will accept your apology in the form of a 500 word essay on the following: "What being a part of the offended culture means to me" as well as the reinstatement of my posts you removed.

Oh yes... the "oh my god you modding my posts is illegal" argument. I find that... YOU sir are harassing me on the boards and that is slander. For that, I will send my guards to arrest you and throw you in the dungeon.

Now that we're done trolling each other for a second... Let me go ahead and quote some of the comments you made to others.

Were you playing bad? If so, might want to try out Hello Kitty Island Adventures because it might be more suitable for such a sensitive sounding person.

Golden rule.

Yah, Obama started the whole trend of being offended and taking "their" side... when kids are confused about which bathroom they should use, have poor parenting or no parents around at all, and go through life without any sense of responsibility because they can blame someone else "offending them" or being "racist" and get out of any punishment... then mental health issues are going to be extremely prevalent like we have in people from the recent tragedy in Florida.

Clarifying that I removed this for the "mental health issues" comment you made (see golden rule).

Mental health issues* which are 20x more common now because of people being so offended and glorified for it, which were caused by Obama. Everyone has had bullies in their lives, the only difference is now kids want to whine and cry about it instead of dealing with it and doing something about it. The pansification of the millennials in this country are making it awful.

Golden rule.

It sounds like you are getting really butthurt over someone question marking a questionable play of yours. I'd say stop worrying about reporting people so much, improve your game, and continue to use the mute button that is given to you and maybe you can improve instead of worrying about how many accounts you can ruin while you feed. Just my 2 cents.

Golden rule.

Yeah I would like to see them advertising "man-up and stop being so offended by everything" too. People report for ANYTHING, the one player who loses their lane (even though the most basic of statistics is that 1 out of 2 players has to lose the lane), or people get butthurt when someone tries to give them advice. They respond "STFU IM MUTING U AND REPORTING." Lmao, millennials are a joke.. so pansified.

Golden rule.

Millennials are so sissy nowadays, and it's really unfortunate.

Golden rule considering the rest of the comments you made about millennials.

Only reason people need morale is if they really hate themselves to the point where they need and desire the approval of others, like most millennial "snowflakes." If kids spent one month focusing on how they, themselves, could improve, and stopped worrying about who they are going to report (by using the in-game mute functions) I can guarantee a minimum of 1 division elo gain and quite possibly a little bit of what it feels like to be a man and deal with life.

Golden rule.

I think people with this mindset need to really take a long look in the mirror, evaluate their life, and really think about growing a pair. Use the mute features in game. If you actually focused on improving instead of who you want to report, you might be able to actually climb.

I'm a strong advocate for punishments always being too harsh, but one of my pet peeves is a child who can only say the overused and annoying word "salty." For this case and Janna players, I really hope a perma comes soon.

Golden rule.

So there's that and I wanted to list these just in case you forgot. I will be addressing the rest of your points below:

As a boards mod I am allowed to do the following: delete, lock, or comment on posts that are in violation of the Universal Rules. Discrimination in case you need a refresher is "the unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people or things, especially on the grounds of race, age, or sex ( https://www.eeoc.gov/laws/statutes/titlevii.cfm ). I have never met you in life or had contact with you on the boards. I therefore don't know your race, age, sex, or other protected class that you might be apart of. Based on the definition I provided, I am not being discriminatory towards you nor am I engaging in illegal censorship. I am however engaging in censorship allowed by moderators in my position based on the rules you have broken. I have in effect "censored" you by deleting your rule breaking content. Therefore, if you do not wished to be "censored" in the future - I recommend that you abide by the universal rules (linked above).

You have a very interesting argument in that second part of your statement "I am sorry that you are still mad that Hillary lost, but just because I don't coddle feeders or approve of catering to the offended does not mean you can censor anything you like for your own personal gain." Actually I voted for Trump and I saw your comments and thought about them for a second before I opted to remove them (for the rule violations for above). Also, if by personal gain you mean the benefit of others and removing your comments for derailing discussions, harming other individuals with your words, and being a jerk... yes I did indeed engage in "personal gain" making sure your content was removed.

You're entitled to your opinion. Heck, all of us on the boards are. However, you are not entitled to insult other people, millennials, Obama, claiming others have mental disorders/diseases, etc. I'm sorry guy but that's not allowed. We have rules for a reason and you broke them and were punished for it. In addition, how you used your words here matters. Calling people kids isn't actionable, but calling people children and wishing they get perma banned from the game isn't okay.

Based on what I saw and linked for your viewing pleasure... I disagree. I mean that's obvious otherwise we wouldn't be here.

  1. I also gave a FACTUAL description of the majority GROUP of people who support this system, blindly, and report every little thing that could possibly be misconstrued as offending them. My point is plain and simple, people need to man up and stop being offended by everything.

If you were going to list facts then why didn't you? You could've easily said based on this data I have collected or this survey I conducted we have X. Instead, you wanted to break the board rules and insult others.

Not illegal, my beliefs as far as I am aware haven't been stated, and you're inferring what you THINK my beliefs are to try and create a terrible argument.

Actually, they would be happy to see that I am cleaning up the boards and removing posts that only seek to antagonize others, derail arguments, and provide nothing to discussions. We're a community and we seek to better the community. I am sorry that you wish to insult me to try and create an argument and possibly feel better about yourself. You're free to come to the Boards Moderation Discord if you want to have a discussion with other moderators. I just ask that you please don't call us all unemployed college student volunteers. I mean some of us may not want to revisit our undergraduate years (too many parties).

  1. I will accept your apology in the form of a 500 word essay on the following: "What being a part of the offended culture means to me" as well as the reinstatement of my posts you removed.

You're welcome to appeal to a Herald if you want your posts restored and you can use that discord link above or respond to this post, in this thread, to do it.

"people need to man up and stop being offended by everything"

Half true. Because "man up" (or "grow up", similar term with the same usage) also means you act like a civilised being and not going around lashing out at everybody and be all self-centric and shit.

You do realise censoring is not a legality issue beyond government and stuff, but a moral or ethical issue?

Freedom of speech and whatnot only prevents government from censoring, given it was originally set up to prevent corruption (or at least that's the claimed rationale); it however, never says private enterprise needs to do that as well. Beyond governments such as when talking about League forum moderation, freedom of speech and stuff like that are a matter of moral and ethical consideration that is encouraged to follow the general notion of freedom of speech but is never in any way, shape, or form, legally binding.

So even if mods are censoring people, that's a IF, it's still not going to be a legality problem.

Hey there. Popping in since Galacius pinged me about this topic.

Taking a look into the situation, I see several posts that are violations of our board "Don't be a Jerk" policy, namely in the form of condescending remarks towards millennials and lines like "might want to try out Hello Kitty Island Adventures because it might be more suitable for such a sensitive sounding person." Additionally, there were several violations of our politics/social issue rules and our rules against intentionally provocational posts in the forms of your comments on Obama, transgender bathroom issues, and a recent school shooting.

Additionally, as this post itself contains such behavior (" It has been brought to my attention that chances are that you are an unemployed college student volunteer, so I realize we all make mistakes", "I am sorry that you are still mad that Hillary lost, but just because I don't coddle feeders or approve of catering to the offended", as two examples) , I will be locking it now that you have gotten feedback from our team. I appreciate your right to express your opinions as much as the next person, but there are places where those opinions are appropriate (a political forum, for example) and those where they are not (this League of Legends based board, for example).

If you have any questions or concerns you can reach out to me through our Moderation Discord, a link to which can be found in the boards navigation bar on the left-hand side of the boards interface.
