Should People Get Their Role Even if They Type it Wrong?

So I usually play normal blind pick and this happens on many occasions. I type in "adc" but someone before me typed in "c". Of course, we fight over our roles. I said that I called "adc" first but the other guy said that HE called it before me even though all he said was "c". He argued that I should know what he means by "c" but my argument is that it's I put in the extra time to type in 2 more letters to spell out the entire role and all he had to do was type in one and expect that I SHOULD know what he means. If that's the case, then everyone would just be typing one letter for their roles to save time but that's not the case. What do you guys think? Am I right? Or is he right? (PS, This is my first time using the boards. I tried searching up other posts with my problem but they never came up. I decided to make my own to answer my problem)

The other person probably typed "ad" first and it didn't show up on your side due to lag, then added the "c" afterward.

Personally, I find fighting over who said what first to be unnecessary. If I'm playing blind pick (which is extremely rare) and someone else wants my role that bad, fine, take it. If I want to play my role and not have to fight someone for it, I play draft.

Blind Pick is the wild west anyway. There's no good answer to your question, unfortunately.

Except perhaps to play draft exclusively.

Morally they shouldn't get the role.

But it's blind pick. It's where all the shit happens

I'll give my role up generally if someone types something like "tp" when they meant "top" as long as the player typed it before me. It doesn't happen often and I wouldn't want to create friction in Champion Select when there's still a whole match ahead of me. I remember one situation where my friend didn't want to give up adc when the other player only typed "ad" and we ended up having 2 adcs because neither my friend nor the other player wanted to compromise. It wasn't a very fun match. :(

Anyways, welcome to the Boards!
