Afk detection?

I created a new account and wanted to test something. I tested this over the span of one week and I found something weird. I qd up for bots once a day throughout this week and afkd each match to see if I would get placed in lower priority q but to my surprise every day I came back nothing happened. Is it supposed to be like this or is it a bug in the system.
