Might have a solution for AFKS

So my idea is that when someone afks, another person can replace him. The replacement still gets the same items and champions as the afk and in return riot can give the replacement some reward such as more BE or even a bit of RP or hextech chests. It really isn't fair that one person gets to ruin 9 other people's experiences. What are your thoughts?

I don't think that would be feasible - or, really, viable for that matter. Firstly, it implies that the AFK player has either sat idle for long enough to be automatically disconnected, or a hypothetical new system kicks them for not participating in the game.

Second, I don't think people would really want to hop into a game in mid-game with a Champion they can't choose - it'd fall onto players who find a Champion they want to play before they can jump in, which really minimizes the chances players would actually go into these matches, with or without reward incentives.

More than that, there are in-game complications with that - let's take a hypothetical scenario. Say someone plays a game as Tryndamere, running with ChemTech Tryndamere, and then AFK's. I decide (out of benevolence and a slight interest in playing Tryndamere) to play as stand-in for this match, but the only skins I own for Tryndamere are Highland (Never use) and Warring Kingdoms.

Well, this creates a problem, because I don't own the skin used in the game, and the person I'm standing in for didn't use any of my skins, if they had them. How does this resolve?

What if they took different Runes than I would've taken? Like, what if they took Press the Attack with Domination as their secondary path, where I was going to take Lethal Tempo and Sorcery? How does it take into account pre-game builds? Does it do so at all?

And lastly, the incentives would probably have to be sizeable rewards, considering the proposition. You're jumping into a game that, for all you know, could be a losing fight, probably wasting 1-5~ minutes in loading and however many more in-match for a loss caused by the person you're trying to stand-in for. What rewards could possibly match up to willfully enduring a loss, or playing a Champion you don't know or don't like?

RP doesn't sound feasible, as it'd have to be extremely tightly controlled as to how much you get per match, per day. BE also sounds less than ideal, since as a primary in-game currency, it's bound to be regulated. Not quite as strictly as RP or OE, but definitely held in a steady drip.

And anything Hextech is tricky to work with - do we give a Chest alone, and expect the player to be honorable enough to have a Key lying around? Do we offer a Chest and Key, giving them basically free shit at any juncture they decide to tank a heavy game that someone AFK'ed in? Do we give a Gemstone? How many rewards could we feasibly give in a particular timeframe? Should the rewards diminish over time, have a fixed rate? Random rewards with a milestone drop?

Incentives for this system would likely be very, very hard to work with, since we're hard-wired to look for greater rewards for the greater effort we put forth. I'm sure that Riot could potentially figure something out in that regard, but the idea as a whole has...Quite a few faults. I don't think any incentive would be enough for people to want to stand in for AFK players, even if they could be evicted from a match and replaced.

I agree, it sucks to get AFK's, but I'm not sure this would be a valid route to take for dealing with them.
