It doesn't matter what gamemode it is, Draft pick, blind pick, ARAM, Bot games, the RGM of the week, we've all seen someone say this.

While sure, normals is a good place to test champs and champ builds, it doesn't mean you can just be a jerk. I don't care if it's even a bot game, being a nuisance to your other teammates by feeding, ping spamming, being offensive and aggressive, etc. it's completely unwarranted and frankly I will report you.

So because some people aren't as competitive, their feelings matter and the person's feelings who is competitive don't? Why? It's ok for them to come off as apathetic and it's ok? That's exactly what that statement implies. But it's ok for people to say that and not expect it to piss some people off?

The objective of the game is to win. Anyone who thinks differently maybe needs to change games and then that way they don't get flamed for a bad attitude. It's pretty much that simple.

That's your definition. What is the very first rule of The Summoners Code? There are 6 rules and not one of them is to have fun. Having fun is a given in any game but when your idea of having fun violates any of the rules of The Summoners Code, technically you should eventually be banned.

It is true it does not say the game is supposed to be played for fun, but it also does not say the game is supposed to be played solely for the entertainment of the guy (you) whose only idea of fun is winning. You can't say that what they say is wrong when there is not standing on what you say either. Everyone plays games differently and just because they are not sitting there sweating in their chair in normal or ARAM doesn't mean they aren't trying.

So I don't know why you're talking about feelings, as if the competitive persons feelings are hurt that I play Urgot top because I wouldn't dare play him in ranked. So when I say chill, it's just a normy, I'm not thinking of his feelings or something? I'm not inting. I'm using a champ made by Riot for the game, using it as it's intended, and trying my best to win. But it doesn't matter cuz you're competitive and I hurt your feelings by picking urgot?

On the contrary, every person I've run into use that phrase in response to fairly reasonable questions/criticisms/suggestions. (e.g. "You might want to build some armor against that Riven now" or "Is that AP Aatrox?").

I can understand using it when being flamed (though it seems like it might make the situation worse), but not as some sort of catchall excuse.

It still implies apathy and adds fuel to the fire. I don't care what you play and if you are doing your best then I would not have a problem with that. What you describe is not what's being addressed. You are still playing to win but responding to the flamers is not helping matters. If you are doing what you say you are doing then don't say anything and mute them. That way you don't escalate it, which you are doing and pissing them off. You are just as much to blame as they are.

It's not always incorrect to use as a response. People just think the gamemode not being ranked completely excuses any and all actions that they commit.

I tried, I got to s2 and went on a massive loss streak all the way down to s5 within a couple weeks. I swapped over to flex and climbed all the way to s2 in a couple days, its a little easier for me imo

Flex is just easier in general 9 times out of 10. It's actually part of the reason nobody who plays soloQ really respects the rank you get from flex. Solo/duo is more accurate for your personal skill, getting plat 1 in flex is probably more equal to gold 5 in solo.

At least, that's my take on it. Not telling anyone not to try in it or anything.

In reality, lol is a game, it doesn't matter ranked or otherwise. But people should still try their best to win and pretend it matters regardless of the game mode.

And then their's the other side of the coin where I want to play anivia bot or anivia top but some piece of shhhhhhhhhhhouflette starts flaming me. While you want to you it doesn't mean you can be a jerk. I don't care if it's ranked (DON'T YOU HIT THAT DOWNVOTE BUTTON YET YOU INFIDILE :D) sometimes I have a certain way of building that might not be as meta as other things but it works better for me than the meta build. Like the time I went through my Iceborn Fiora phase (das shizz was dope until I just got sick of using fiora).

1 - Cheaper 2 - Deals good damage because of the sheen passive 3 - Gives armor which goes a longer way than you'd expect. With this alone I feel quite comfortable tower diving. 4 - Already super mobile so phage doesn't really appeal to me all that well but the slow.... hehe... HAHAHAHA! I value the slow more than the movespeed buff because you can flash my dash an MS but 7/10 the flash and die anyways.... basically removes flash in my opinion. The slow helps a LOT with vitals and a 4 proced ult. 5 - Mana. I get more mana from Iceborn a lot earlier than the overated power spike of TF. So I just spam everything (cept parry) after I get that. Q to lane and wave clear constantly with Q + sheen proc. 6 - Get more CDR earlier takes up less item space to build 7 - Wave clear 8 - Sheen proc works on towers

Also I do get cleaver with the iceborn. And triforce on fiora just feels apaling to be honest. It just feels like crap when I do it. It takes long to get in the first place and then even when I do complete it I feel like I sold my soul to the devil and got toilet paper in return

There's two sides to this coin in my opinion.

You should always be trying your best to win in the game. Troll picks or building something that doesn't make any sense ruins the game for not just your team but sometimes the other team as well. (I don't find curb stomping an enemy team due to d/c or troll any fun). But those who rage abusively about someone trying something new or just having a bad game need to relax. It IS just a game.

If you want to play some really weird shit, find a group of friends to make a match with.

you didn't show the other side of the coin buddy, if its a norm people might relax their mechanics or not look at the map as often, and thats ok. people will get angry at me for feeding when i go first time voli bear into a 400K mastery riven in a norm, they might get angry and ill say the dreaded "its a norm, who cares". I'm someone who believes if you dont like to hear negativity then muting is the answer, not chastising people into behaving how you want them too. In an environment that doesnt put your LP on the line i think EVERY one should say "its a norm who cares", cause then the 0/10 adc wont get flamed and the next game you play wont be clouded by the hatred you felt in the last one.

p.s. in a norm, if someone on my fucking team bans my darius if i have him highlighted , im goin ad janna or full tear swain. riot needs to let you report for champ select trolling

Hey, as long as they don't completely troll and int feed I couldn't care less what they do in norms. They don't have to try their best, just try not to lose. I believe that the most important thing in a normal game mode is to have fun and try not to ruin everyone else's while your at it.(except in ARAMs, you can do whatever you want in there cuz I am not touching that trash mode with a 10 foot pole)

I've never said this myself but there have been people who've said it in my defense for all the weird stuff I try. It shouldn't really be an issue as long as the person the phrase is applied to is making an effort to win, especially so if whatever they are doing is in an attempt to learn or create a more effective way of winning.
