Riot Please change your punishments for leaving games!

League of Legends Match History

As I am writing this, I had to leave a ranked game at roughly 5-7 minutes in to the game. I understand how leaving a game has punishments, but I never leave games unless something pressing comes up like in this case, so as far as I know my record is generally clean (the worst punishment I can remember is once I got a 5 game 20 min low priority queue). At the very least, all I am asking for is maybe something like if you leave during a game but your team wins as mine did, your lp stays the same or even you gain lp like the rest of my teammates did, in stead of losing it like I did in this case. Additionally, maybe there could be a system integrated that assesses your play during the time you were active, much like the experience ranking system works. In this game as jungle, my team had 10 kills at the time that I had to leave. 4 of these kills were by my hands, and a total of 6 of them I was apart of. I honestly feel that, though I had to leave, I made a large contribution to the game and did everything I could to assist my team, and was ultimately part of the reason why my team won and it, though I guess it is a policy, at this point feels very unfair to me and to other players who experience cases like this. I know I only lost 18 points and could easily gain them back in one game, but if you think about it that's essentially a waste of 15-40 minutes of my time that shouldn't have been lost. Just, in the future, I'd like to see a system that only punishes the leaving of toxic players and trollers, and especially not someone who couldn't help their leaving.

And how is the system going to determine who left because of emergency and who left for troll/rage purposes?

Additionally, fuck that shit.

I don't care if you had 4 kills before you left. That is 4 kills worth of gold on you that your team now lacks because of afk/leaving.

I can sympathize for the ones who are gone just long enough for the detection system to ping them. They, to my knowledge, lose lp due to the 3 minutes they were gone rebooting. If you are gone 5+ minutes and the team has to win without you, especially if in the early game, then I don't feel you deserve lp for that match.

Why should you get rewarded for your team winning a 4v5?

Here's the thing, I know it sucks to be punished because of unforeseen circumstances, but changing it like you suggest would likely only open the system up for more abuse than there already is. Detecting trolling is difficult enough already, and determining the reason for a disconnect probably isn't any easier. Sure there are those people that outright say "I'm AFK" or something in that vein, but what's to stop them from changing that to "I have an emergency" just so they don't lose points if the team wins?

With that in mind, let's assume that most people that AFK intentionally say it's an emergency and have to leave, so the system assumes it's true. Obviously, they should still be punished, regardless of the outcome of the game, but that wouldn't happen. Sure, the few people that do have to leave winning games would be helped, but would that be worth it if so many others are abusing the system? I don't think so.

When you queue up for a game of League, you are obligated to play the game out. If you can't do that or refuse to do so, Riot has decided they will take action. There's some leeway in there when it comes to low-priority queue, since emergencies certainly do happen, but they aren't going to reward you for winning a game you didn't play out.

You gain rating because you preform better than the players at your current elo. If your performance was so good that you could set your team up to win a 4v5 by the time you had to go you wouldn't need any loss-prevented.

Riot could probably just implement some sort of appeal, but honestly, theres no way to implement such a thing without it possibly being abused.
