Do you guys think it's valid to ban someone for jokingly insulting their friend?

You know how you get 3 logs whenever you're 14 day banned or permabanned? Would you think a ban is still deserved if someone just had a bad time in 2 games but the other game he was just joking around with a friend? This happened to a friend of mine but I don't really know why it's still valid to ban someone for joking around with a friend in 1/3 of the report material used.

If you are going to use chat that may seem offensive to the players outside of your party, you should use a third party chat option instead (like Skype). Even if you are in a full premade, your friend's reports are still valid and may get you punished if you are being consistently or extremely negative, so I'd advise to keep it out of game chat all the same.

If you're doing it in chat for your team to see, then yes.

Or perhaps Riot should put in a "Chat Mode" in game that allows "For Friends" / "Party" or "Group" chat only because some people are just overly sensitive over things and make a big fuss, often not the issue with toxicity, but "Over Watch" has this and it should be in League too.

The system is designed to detect and filter out banter between friends. That said, please consider who can see what you type and how it may affect them.

I think it's valid, why should a big company launch an investigation into if you guys are friends or not? You can't talk trash in a high school basketball game don't do it here.

Yes, Banned. Always Yes to bans, no exceptions.
