How anyone who is perma-banned all now say the system is broken. Like what is a good system then? I guess we should be able to say whatever we want and anyone who has an off game should be punished. Not only that people in "higher elo" would know that flaming and raging at teammates will cost them the game before bringing it back. I mean when i get raged at i just respond casually. Dont insult or anything. Just say what the other person did wrong and leave it at that. I dont Retaliate in /ALLCHAT. Ive been reported many times by people who just get angry. Yet no chat restrictions or perma bans. The system isnt broken. Yall just want it to work your way. The system is for everyone. Not everyone rages or flames. Not that hard to ignore someone.

TL:DR - System doesnt work just the way you want it. Everyone goes by it too

Its just kids who are angry that they cant say anything and everything they want in the game. I usually tend to just ignore when people say something like this is broken, especially if they have chat logs with nothing but Racial/Derogatory Slur. its no different than the people who think buying RP means they can break the rules because they gave Riot money. it makes no sense whatsoever, and honestly just a childish mentality. Hopefully one day they will grow up and understand if something like this doesnt fly in the real world what makes you think it would work for this company/game?

Well if the goal of the system is to improve behavior and reduce toxicity, then I'd say it's broken. I've seen no reduction in toxicity in games and if anything it's gotten worse with this new system. It's created an atmosphere where everyone is quick to point the finger at others hoping to get them banned. Meanwhile, I see toxic chat in literally 90+% of matches. So basically things haven't gotten any better but now some players are getting punishments and bans, but it's by no means distributed equally or fairly. So these players create new accounts with the intention of trying to bait and screw over other players using this system.

To be fair, I've been reported for defending someone being raged at without raging

I had a zac on my team screaming at our adc for not going in... When it would have been a 2v5 and I told the zac he shouldn't have gone in because it was a bad fight and if the adc went in it would have resulted in 2 deaths instead of just his, he proceeded to rage at me afterwords and reported me... And I got a warning for that report

😓

The tribunal was a pretty good system.

What i want to see is not the perm bans. I want to see IP bans. If that person is getting banned for a reason, i dont want to just watch them make a new account without learning anything. If you're gonna ruin every ones time with your obtuse views and mentality, then get reported about it, i don't wanna see you ever again. get lost.

but hey, that's just me, and i'm not too forgiving

Lots of people including myself believe the system is way to lax. I strongly believe the system should be greatly increased. Yes Riot will never increase the system to ban more people because it means less revenue for them, but they are working on other systems to fight the problem another way.

As I have said in other posts and change Riot makes must pass 2 things. 1. It can not overall reduce LoL player base. ( The system today only bans people who are so toxic they would cause more people to quit and it is a net gain to ban them, than to let them continue to play) 2. It can not reduce the probability of revenue.

So Riot has to find a way to fight toxicity without making alot of people quit and reducing their revenue. Riot says 8% of their player base are toxic and that is their extreme definition, but we all know a safe estimate is 75% of all games have some form of toxicity. This takes place before, during, or after in the post game all chat. Their AI system only looks at chat in game which of course does not help.

I believe Riot is look Riot is working on two new systems to try to fight toxicity without breaking the two rules above. Of course this was before being completely bought out by Tencent so we shall see if they are implemented.

_1. Last year Socrates announced that Riot was at one point working on a new system for ranked known as Ranked Restrictions. If this has been implemented at any capacity I have never heard of anyone mentioning its existence or have seen it myself. The idea is for the system to disable chat for toxic or negative players and restricts or prevents them from logging into ranked queues. I assume for X amount of time. _

Again in some ways this could work to help encourage the 8% to reform if they want to play ranked. Again whether this system works or not will completely depend on Riots definition of Toxcicity. Will they keep the extreme 8% definition today or will they make adjustments and look to try to reform many more players and look to get that 75% of toxic games number down?

  1. We found out I believe in November that Riot at one point was working on a new crafting and loot system that would exclude toxic players.

We dont have any dates, or features or anything to that, but we do know that at one point (could of been scrapped by Tencent) that Riot was looking at implementing a system to reward players who act like human beings. Who knows what content the crafting system will include, but the idea is if you get through a game without being toxic, than you get a reward which can be used to craft.

The success of the system completely comes down to whether again Riot is just looking at excluding the 8% or if they plan on being much more inclusive and go after all toxic players in every game. I would like to see them implement a system in which you get crafting material for every game you complete without being toxic. If you are toxic than you are put on probation and dont get crafting material for your next 2 games. If you cant make it through 2 games without being toxic than the penalty should be compounding.

Anyway none of Riots planned changes will have any effect whatsoever if their AI system used for identifying toxicity is the same one they use today which only catches the 8%. They need to be catching every harassment comment that takes place in chat. I get it they cant ban 50% of their player base, but this crafting system gives them a possible carrot to hang in front of people who act like people while they play.

In reality the only people who voice complaints about Riot trying to fight toxicity are those who do it. Plane and simple. The Tribunal is gone. The days of players judging players is no more. It is an AI computer which judges everyone. Is it perfect? no. But Riot was not comfortable with how many people were getting punished in the Tribunal so they moved to this. The truth is if you get banned, you did something and you said something plain and simple. It doesnt matter who talked first or who punished who in the face first. If the toxic player reports you at the end of the match and you said something that was technically against the rules, it does not matter that you didn't start it.

Once you identify someone as toxic you can take away their ability to speak in chat.

You can also force them to make a new account where they troll new players.

Isn't it best, once they're identified, to take away their chat and allow them to play at the MMR they should be in.

What is done now is they're given their abilty to chat back placed with new people.

The unintended side effect is Riot makes more money when people spend money on their new account.

I am a formerly permabanned player. What I think what outraged me back when I was that player was the amount of shit I got away with before I got permabanned, I did the math once and I ruined over 1000's of players games and probably making a few players toxic along the way before getting permabanned.

I think it's pretty basic math that if 1 toxic player is making more toxic players before he is punished it just because a exponential effect

For example: I was toxic, I used to make 3 people toxic a day, Those 3 people makes 2 people toxic a day, those 2 people make 1 person toxic a day.

Now you have 7 toxic players continuing that effect, I also believe there are some words in League that shouldn't have any "warning system but should be an outright system right off ban" Words that are racist, etc..

Now do that over a course of 100's of games.

Now the system I would say has fixed in terms of those regards, Punishments are handed out quicker now and HATS OFF to Riot for that. Makes it much easier to reform, however, Trolling and Griefing, Intent feeding in passive aggressive ways and AFK'ing is now on the rise. I am aware it's a constant struggle and will take time to make the game better however, it's very clear that Tribunal needs to return.

Why??

Because with those things on the rise, you need some form of context so that Trolls who do not care about ELO, or Ranked, or simply play on friends/bought accounts get punished. Right now it's easier to get some back that you don't like by letting him die in a teamfight, then on top of that, just bait the person out for being toxic towards you in chat just to double punish him and get him chat restricted.

That is not right. Just like the laws we have in real life, there needs to be some sort of clarity and context in League.

When someone's starting to talk crap I use that allmighty mute button that everyone seems to forget about, instead of reacting back at them and making a scene.
