What is with the toxic people of this community?

Okay to preface this discussion, i have been playing this game for a little over 3 years. I have gotten multiple accounts to level 30 in this time, (except i'm still silver because i'm noob). But the level of toxicity and the consistency of the players being toxic is just beyond stupid. Here are just some of the examples that this community is Fucked and i'm losing hope for league of legends.

About a month ago I was playing a ranked game and someone locked in as teemo jungle, now i was a bit fishy of this because that's not a common pick especially in ranked. But i decided to not dodge and give him the benefit of the doubt because i was tired and wanted to play one more game before i went off to sleep. Anyways he had a level 7 mastery so i was starting to gain hope. But then we got in game, and he instantly typed in something along the lines of, "fuck all of you i'm done." What he proceeded to do is something i've never seen before in ranked. He would randomly pick a lane and go invisible in it, siphoning exp and occasionally stealing cs. Now when he got to my lane i was pissed of course and expressed my level of anger and ended up getting a chat restriction after the game. (not the point but still worth noting). He did this the whole game and after claimed "i've been doing this since season 5 and i haven't been banned so good luck."

Another example is today i was playing a game and everything was chill and then all of the sudden out of nowhere i get ganked by the entire team (EVERYONE on the enemy team came into my lane and instantly cucked me). So i said in chat something along the lines of "guys wtf where are your mia's????" and then they said "Dude stfu we are a group of four and we will get you banned if you keep talking shit." In my head i'm like "hehe these guys think they can scare me? I KNOW MY RIGHTS!" so i said "Try me." I shit you not the REST of the game everyone on my team spam pinged the question mark and typed horrible things in /all chat like "Omg yasuo just told me to burn my jew sister" or "omg yasuo no i will not eat my own ass" I thought they were joking at first but No they continued the whole game making up slander like this. The sad thing is they actually believed they could get me banned for these false accusations. I have been banned before so i know that when someone tries to fuck with you. DO NOT SAY ANYTHING BACK OR YOU WILL GET BANNED. So i muted them and carried on with the game. I know they continued to do this the 20 minutes left in the game was because i would randomly unmute them at times and see them still spamming stuff. After a while i had to take my headphones off because the pings were getting unbearable.

Anyways sorry for the rant but i just feel that the league community is nothing like it was 2-3 years ago. Like i remember when league was a fun game that i could sit down and have fun with my friends. I guess back then i was lets say "innocent" because i never played ranked. I used to play the game for fun and never got a chat restriction ever. Now its all about winning. Nobody plays to have fun.

Isn't it weird that if you respond to them even calmly and rationally, it can get you in trouble?

Sympathies.

I've been in your shoes before as a support, in the situation where the ADC who I was in lane with, could do no wrong in the eyes of his premade. Apparently, this "doing no wrong" included repeatedly going ham to the point that he was using up his mana, repeatedly marching ahead and getting repeatedly grabbed by Blitzcrank under the turret - and repeatedlly blaming the support for not protecting him. (Nothing like having your placement matches ruined by this nonsense.)

In situations like this, just mute and play - or play and ignore the chat (except for purposes of reporting the group toxicity at the end of the game, if you have a thick enough skin). Just stay out of the p***ing matches that occur in chat. Use pings wisely and just do your best. It's all you can do.

A couple more tips: 1) don't play when the school age kids are likely to be in-game (that cuts out 90% of the nonsense); 2) when you report them, actually use the comment section and if you can, quote some of the bad stuff. All it takes is the right stuff being seen by the right person for a player's file to get audited.

Riot said in the past that they don't want to make "prisioner islands" (groups of toxics, , to play with toxics, so normal people play with normals. They say they want to reeducate these people into human beings who can act with good manners. But the thing is, hasn't this community proved already enough times it's beyond redemption?

I'd say just muting them is a good idea, people are toxic because we're humans I don't know how to explain it but most peeps get that stomach feeling and just go onto a type war, the people who know how to control that or have the mindset "It's just a game" imo succeed much more then someone whos toxic as hell.

Trolls have all of the power in a League game and they know it. One person can singlehandedly bring down a whole game if they so chose to, because you can't kick them and you will be the one punished if you AFK or flame.

Yeah these guys might get banned. Maybe. If they keep doing it and consistently get reported. But chances are they are going to be able to do as they like for a long long time until their day comes.

And then they will just make a new account and whack-a-mole will continue.

Sometimes you just gotta dodge, I dodge games all the time in Silver because it's a dumpster fire elo. Pretty much you have to have tough skin and not care if you lose games from trolls.

First I have to say report them if they said anything offensive especially racial or anti-Semitic, they are digging a grave by saying these things, can be easily verified but has to be reported if you expect action ever.

Next I too feel not so good about playing solo on premade 4 teams, off and on they are trolls at a MUCH higher percentage than other teams, also I don't trust Riot about them group reporting me for some nonsense they cant prove either way. Honestly if I have a choice I would avoid premade 4s unless you feel you must.

I also don't feel so confident on a player being actioned for what they do outside of what they say, if there is action, its slow.

I just had something similar happen in a ranked game that lost me my promotion.
Here's the game. Mid and top decide to switch at tops request. I lock in jhin and my supports morg vs a cait/veigar bot.

My support doesn't even know what her abilities do and when I point out that her E could stop all of veigars stuns.. she continues to run into them, intentionally feeding and only putting up the shield what seems like 7 seconds after everything magic is done.

Mid and top intentionally feed their respected lanes. Jungle continues to ignore helping out and doesn't even know how to play graves..

So, of course, we lose because jhin cant deal with veigar support who has more ap than the stars in the universe and I'm pissed still.

I'm more pissed that riot continues to bury their heads in the sand over this type of behavior. Not only do we have to basically get raped by these feeders in game, we can be punished when we're finally done with it and end up wanting to leave or try and continue to play the game after a mute.

First off, It's NOT A FUCKING GOOD SYSTEM that we have to wait til the END OF THE FUCKING GAME to report a player. HOTS lets you report toxic players IN THE ACTUAL GAME and they are punished almost immediately.. Why? Because blizzard's punishment system actually grows and adapts to toxic players.. Maybe Ghostcrawler should have taken that when he left blizz..

Lastly, the system only reviews 2-3 past games once a person is reported.. it's easy as hell to trick the system. Dont be toxic for 2 games, then be toxic for one, then don't be toxic.. etc.
this is not good.

I've had games where my opponent continues to spew more hate speech than the third Reicht or trump and do they get punished? nope. This needs to change

The big problem right now is that rito isn't punishing people as much (or as hard enough) so the casual bronze audience thinks they can get away with a lot more than they should (great example of that being most of my match history, as about 60% of the people I've played with in the past week should have a chat restriction and about 30% should just be banned outright for inting on first-time characters). I can understand that rito is focusing a ton on trying to compete with overwatch/cs:go right now (both of which are the least of their concern due to the whole apples and oranges thing), but would it kill them to at least attempt to solve this player abuse issue? If they did, it could potentially solve their first issue as it'd prevent people such as myself from slowly taking their business elsewhere.
