there should be an option to mute peoples pings

i joined a game and i got mid and that made this guy mad so the whole game he spam pinged me with enemies missing and other shit, it was really annoying and he had a friend who also was spam pinging me and the only way i could solve this problem was to turn off my volume. there should be a mute pings button because muting someone doesnt do it. And when i mean the whole game, I mean the WHOLE game, there was not a moment that he or his friend were not spam pinging me, it was just endless volleys of pings for 30 minutes non stop. i reported them after but nothing will happen as usual.

EDIT: I got 7 game chat restriction because i told him to shut the fuck up #Feelsbadman

There's a ping volume option, but that will lower the volume of all pings, not just the one person. But sometimes that's necessary to concentrate on the game and it's the best option we have right now.

nope just /ignore twinklyTwinkly or if they were playing as Annie then you can also go /ignore Annie

riot has already stated that they have specifically dissallowed the muting of pings so players have a way to communicate with /mute allers. the moment you let people mute pings, people will start muting everyone's pings and communciation will become impossible

Well the thing that i'm saying is, that when a person is no longer pinging for communication, just pinging for the sake of annoyance, it becomes a problem, i already /mute all everyone at the start of games, and i see what you're saying with there being no communication if you mute everything, but i'm saying there should be an option to completely mute someone because spam pings can be annoying as hell. And it should be my option if i want to communicate with my team or not and if i want to hear their annoying ass pings or not.

riot doesnt want people muting pings, because a large chunk of the playerbase would just mute everyone's pings at the start of the game

yes you said that, i'm saying that its their decision to mute pings, just as much as its their decision to spam ping just as much as it should be my decision to mute them if they are abusing the pings, and there should be a category in the report box of them spamming pings. its more annoying than toxic players because you can mute them
