Chat restricted for calmly and collectively assessing a trolling teammate.
I genuinely don't understand what I could have possibly said that could have been flagged here.
> Game 1 > Pre-Game > Sauvagess: rengar is a nice ban too > In-Game > Sauvagess: uh > Sauvagess: Which items are those for? > Sauvagess: 'cause that's a lot. > Sauvagess: That answers nothing? > Sauvagess: for what > Sauvagess: I mean, you had a full minute to answer a simple question. > Sauvagess: You decided to ramble about things unrelated to the game instead. > Sauvagess: I asked what items you were planning on building > Sauvagess: and you said nothing about items. > Sauvagess: How is it not? > Sauvagess: tri doesn't have 3 rejuv beads > Sauvagess: wtf are you doing > Sauvagess: Why are you taking crab? > Sauvagess: I'm waiting for the mark. > Sauvagess: Why are you there? > Sauvagess: I don't need help taking something that doesn't fight back. > Sauvagess: come > Sauvagess: to > Sauvagess: me > Sauvagess: dragon > Sauvagess: dragon > Sauvagess: team > Sauvagess: HEY > Sauvagess: wake up > Sauvagess: move > Sauvagess: lost infernal > Sauvagess: Yeah, she roams around with her jungler killing things. > Sauvagess: >"of course the afk top laner loses the game by making it a 4v5" > Sauvagess: Kills don't win the game > Sauvagess: taking objectives does. > Sauvagess: if you want kills, go play CoD > Sauvagess: Yeah, I don't get it... > Sauvagess: totally > Sauvagess: >Not being a team player in a team game totally isn't bad > Sauvagess: You're the one who started blaming a player. > Sauvagess: I asked you what items are you building that has 3 rejuv beads > Sauvagess: and you went off on a tangent. > Sauvagess: Because you're complaining. > Sauvagess: It IS my business. > Sauvagess: What you build also affects what I build. > Sauvagess: It does. > Sauvagess: It's called "not following a mobafire guide and actually paying attention and reacting to the game" > Sauvagess: which is why I asked > Sauvagess: but you would rather argue and lose the game than try and be a teammate. > Sauvagess: I didn't say I base it on one teammate. > Sauvagess: You're so busy trying to argue that you would rather lose the game than win > Sauvagess: and everything you said just further proves that > Sauvagess: like I said.
I sent in a ticket about this, and got responses such as:
>Skiwi: >I understand it might feel like nothing said here was a serious problem, but the chat in this log is primarily being used to argue with and criticize other players. Because these things contribute to a bad experience for everyone in a game, they can lead to a chat restriction. >Chat is intended for positive or neutral communication toward the goal of helping your team win, and this doesn't really fall under that. >For future reference, that generally means things like:
>"lets get dragon" "we should build MR" "focus the ad carry"
>Are Great. but things like:
>"why did you do that" "you're going to get banned" "you're playing wrong" "you're making us lose"
>are not, and can lead to chat restrictions and other penalties.
and
>Frenchy: >I totally get how tilting other players can be. I get frustrated myself in games, especially when others are trolling and feeding. Even if they're being negative in chat it can tilt me.
>However, you are ultimately in control of your own actions and responsible for what you choose to say. Even if some one else is being worse, you can still earn a penalty if you're misusing chat to respond to them. The chat is only meant to be constructive to winning, so your chat is weighed to see what you're contributing. If it's not purely tactical information to help your team win, it's best to leave it out of chat.
>I do see that you belittle others, condescend them, distracted others by typing so much all game, come down on others for game play, and argue with them. None of this is helpful to winning the game, all this does is escalate the negativity. I know it may not have seemed negative in the moment, but others took it this way and we do see it as negative too.
>Moving forward, I'd recommend you mute players, maybe even move the chat off the screen (this is what I do) and focus on your own gameplay. Make sure to report negative players after the game as well so we can look into it for you.
and
>Bruna Bluefox: >I do see that you had some players in this game that were not quite friendly to say the least and this seems to have an effect on what you decided to do in this game. We will make sure to look at their accounts as well. But as far as your chat restriction is concerned this was warranted. We do things a bit differently in League in that we do not want negativity in the game. Even if you are reacting to others in the game with negativity then you know that you are crossing a line as well.
It just makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, and combined with all the recent stuff in the news regarding Riot as a company and what goes on within their infrastructure, not to mention the way that such "player support" ends up driving off the people who aren't actually toxic and only leaving the people who don't care if they get permabanned and make new accounts to keep trolling, it doesn't entirely surprise me that things turn out this way, but at the same time I'm still baffled at how non-self aware they are.
