Greater penalties for dodging?

I don't know about you, but I get a lot of players dodging in champ select when people start fighting to switch roles/lanes from the ones they were assigned or arguing about who to ban. Like just play the role you were assigned, and ban the champ you want yourself.. Anyone else getting super annoyed by this? Should there be bigger penalties so that people stop doing this? It kind of sucks to wait 15-20mins for a game to start since there are consecutive dodgers.

yeah I think there should be harsher penalties but I also think you should have to give a reason why you dodged, and after like 10 seconds it counts as an afk

Here, lets look at it a different way. If the game loads after all the fighting, then there still might be hard feelings. This can be made even worse if someone was forced into a role they don't want (like autofill does sometimes). Would you rather take the risk of someone trolling and inting the game, or waiting longer for perhaps a better chance? It is a hard choice because we don't know how people will be until after the fact.

Seems backwards... you'd think you would want lesser penalties so that you can dodge these games where trolls are stealing roles and shit.

This can't even be serious. I don't know how you play, but a queue is like 5 minutes at most for most people. I would much rather have someone dodge than have a dysfunctional team.

If people are arguing about champs and roles in champ select do YOU really want to get in a game with them on your team. Especially in a ranked game where you're trying to climb. I know I sure as hell don't.

Now that being said, do you REALLY want to give harsher punishments to someone already willing to eat the dodge penalty to get out of that situation?
