Your Automated System Restricted the Wrong Player
Can you please explain to me why I was the one who lost an honor rank and had a chat restriction placed on my account for being the one that was flamed by toxic players? The card says the tribunal system found me guilty--I thought that wasn't active any more?
Or is it because TWO players on my team called me a worthless see-you-next-Tuesday and reported ME? Not once did I get toxic with them, other than pointing out the repeated bad engages that they blamed on me. Not one name called, not one insult other than, well, pointing out their failure to carry was making them toxic and they chose to blame it on me--the only one with a positive KDA and who had the first turret down, while they lost their lanes.
I hadn't played this game in over a year because of the increasing incidences of toxicity in non-ranked 5's. It's just not fun. And now I'm being punished for saying the word "sh!t" and "stop being toxic choad" while these guys get to harass me, call me a cun-, and be general piss poor representatives of this game's player base. There wasn't a single in-game action I took where they didn't feel the need to harass my decision over it. They asked me to FF. So I did. They rejected it and dragged out a 45 minute game where I was harassed every. Single. Minute. When they tried to bully me into playing their way and I refused, they reported ME for trolling and being toxic. And lo and behold, I log in to a chat restriction.
Really? What happened to them? Did they get a chat restriction? Or is my one ticket not weighted as heavily as their two?
I had literally just received an honor rank promotion, and multiple awards for player commendations and I've only been back in LOL for a WEEK. I gushed on my Stream about the free champion I received literally two hours before this incident. I've defended numerous team mates who have gotten flamed for mistakes. I've also been that salty jerk that said some mean things, and that didn't even get me a chat restriction. But THIS does it? How many restrictions can I expect to receive because some salty toxic jerk reported ME and the bot saw I said a few curse words? I'm not proud for letting them get to me, but asking players to straight up ignore that type of behavior without defending themselves, and asking them to continue playing a game and fight for victory when their team mates are being unsportsmanlike is NOT how you further develop positive and conducive sportsmanship. That's how you chase players out of your game and back into other franchises where they're not asked to tolerate that BS for the sake of a win in a non-competitive match.
Can you do us all a favor, then, and simply permanently REMOVE the in game chat? It'll save you guys a ton of money and time on trying to figure out how to reduce toxicity in the in-game community, and we all know the in-game ping system is good enough to make up for that lack of communication. You are setting players up for failure by implementing this harsh of a system where the only safe option seems to be, "just don't look at the chat log anymore lest someone finally get your goat."
Either that or be honest with your community and make the post:
"The best way to deal with a toxic player in this game is to block them, report them, and don't reply. Because if you say just ONE CURSE WORD the automatic system will punish YOU, despite a clean record and 7 years of not one player card warning. Oh and don't disable the chat filter...yes I know we gave you the option, but our bot has a zero tolerance policy. Better use those asterisks. Oh and we don't care if you're having fun in that match, you better play it to the end and make sure you try your hardest to help rando jerks win, or else you get the ban stick!"
