I recently got banned for 3rd party software? * /r/leagueoflegends

I just got an email saying that I've been permanently banned from League on my account because apparently I've been using a 3rd party software? I truthfully say I have not. I have always played my League games with honesty and fairness. It must have been a mistake so I am not worried too much but I am afraid that I may not get my account back. The only thing I have installed affecting my League client is Overwolf and because that's been advertised on certain streams I watch. Please help! Is there any Rioter I can page? I am really distressed and honestly think they made a mistake.

the exact same thing happened to me if you hear anything let me know, cos I'm not a cheater and cant believe they randomly banned me without a caution or anything, I came on this morning and BOOM! banned?

I am in the same position, woke up to an email saying I have been permabanned. Only thing I use is Overwolf too. I have sent off a report ticket, I have received a generic email from Riot, to which I have replied again, but I have no idea what happens next. I love my LoL account, and have worked hard to get to silver after being placed B5 after promos. For them to ban me for "cheating" is quite insulting.

Anyone got information on this yet?

Maybe it's considered having access to information that'd put you at an advantage. I'd think being able to see the masteries of champions I'm in a game with gives me an unfair advantage on account that I know how to play against them to push weaknesses and avoid strengths.

Question: how many of us that just got banned for no reason stream on twitch?

The most common scenario I've seen about this is that the punished person (in the case they really didn't use 3rd party software) shared their account (generally for Elo boosting and what not, but could be to other people just to play) and these people DID use them.
