It's time for riot to define what they consider "reformed" once and for all.

Riot, its time to stop hiding behind ambiguity and define what you mean. I'm so tired of vague responses like "soon" "eventually" "reformed" etc, etc.

Why introduce a system( yes, talking about hextech loot) without including a goal....or a way to track your progress or something. Why is it that I can't get a simple answer.....

Hey themachamp,

I'm Broken Blade and I will be assisting you.

We can't really provide specifics for the duration of ineligibility because it depends on the player, but we want to be sure players punished by our systems are making genuine efforts to reform, so the period of ineligibility will go beyond the duration of the chat restrictions or suspensions received. Make significant progress and the rewards will start to appear after games once more.

To help on this road to Hextech loot I recommend just muting players you are having issues with and refrain from saying negative comments or arguing with them. As the saying goes, "Two wrongs don't make a right". Don't combat negativity with more negativity, it will only make the situation worse. Or if you find yourself becoming frustrated quite often, I would recommend taking a break from the game for a bit. This will allow you to clear your head and make you not as quick to lose your cool.

I would also suggest reporting players you are having issues with if you feel necessary after the game, but please refrain from asking for reports in game as this is considered a form of negativity as well. Reports help us prioritize what accounts to look into for further disciplinary action.

I sent in a ticket to simply ask about the status of my account and this is the best you can give me? 1st off, I call bs that you can't give me a duration/number of games I have left w/o out being "toxic". I was punished 3 months ago.....you cant tell me how close I am to being back in "good standing"...bs. 2nd..WTF.....is "significant progress"? 10 games, 50 games, 6 months +85 games? For all i know riot throws 5 darts at a board once each day and those are the players who are now "reformed" and showed "significant progress" 3rd ......everything but the 1st paragraph is useless and doesn't even touch on the question I ask.

I know the chances of getting a real answer are slim(or even a rioter seeing this).....but how hard is it to tell me if my acct is in the neg/neutral/positive area? How hard is it to tell me where i need to reach? Surely you can do something like "well you are on the border of neg and neutral.....but you need to be in the middle of neutral before we consider you reformed" I mean, at the end of the day, its a computer program so i KNOW there are hard numbers you can tell us. I know you can look at accounts and tell people the status of the account. If you can do numbers of games played/time passed for punishments..and telling us what it takes to drop down a tier then you can do it for this. I mean, riot wont even tell us if its time or game based ( or a combo of both), won't tell us is bot games count...etc.

Anyways, sorry for rant, but PLEASE.....give some concrete details. If I can't even a straight answer from support then it can only lead me to believe that you have no system in place at all to measure "reform". You rolled out an incomplete feature.......one that...for the 1st time ever( to my knowledge) restricts a player from a feature of the game itself ( less you want to spend that $$$....got not problem with my standing if i do that, huh?). Please, stop the with the "when we feel like it" attitude and give real goals to work toward or just scrap the restriction altogether.

Edit: I dont know if this will be of any help to anyone but, It appears the algorithm they use to tell if your "reformed" is based on the passage of time AND the number of games played. Sadly, that was all riot support was willing to tell me.

Hello again,

It's a little mix of both game based and time based. A player can't just quit playing for an extended period of time in hopes that when they return they will be eligible, there must be games played to show that there is an improvement in behavior. Just keep my previous tips in mind and you should be on the road to crafting in no time!

Kind regards, Broken Blade Riot Games Player Behavior Specialist

This could have all been avoided had you just not gone over the line in the first place.

They send Automated responses. The only way youll get a real response is if youre transfered to a special area. I was a toxic boy at one time, now i dont type. Im a nice boy now.

Riot offers well-behaved players as sacrifices to provide gaming environment where offenders can work on improving their behaviors, then after riot's satisfied with their behavior they point at the mountain of corpses that were once bright and dazzling players but killed (mentally) during that process and call that pile "reformed".

Yea....Judging by that tone... You're not gonna see hextech loot anytime soon....

Just keep raging so we can get ya permabanned...You won't be missed.

The way I see it, reforming isn't about just presenting yourself better, but also using your experiences to help others reform, or to prevent them from needing to reform in the first place.

That's what I'm going to try and do here on this forum now. I might not be getting anything for it, but I'd rather not see people learn nothing from their punishments. I took the time after my ban to see what reform really is, and I'm convinced anyone else can too.

Edit: I kinda missed the original point of this thread. There's not much else to say about earning hextech stuff again besides "don't get reported".

They won't tell you anything, because all of their systems are guarded by the "Security through obscurity" rule.

All I can tell you about this whole "reform" bullshit is that once you get flagged, it can take months if no years to stop being considered "toxic".

When the Chat Restriction system rolled out in it's terri-fucking-bad state I was perma-restricted for 16 months, until I seemingly broke the system or rolled a dice and had my account cleared with a finger snap.

Regardless of how possitive my behavior was, the length of my chat restrictions was rising, until it reached 625 games. At that point I already gave up and completely stopped caring about mental well-being of other people. Despite the fact my behavior at best didn't change and most likely actually got worse, it was the last chat restirction I've ever got.

I miss days before the Chat Restrictions when you could joke with people in /all chat, like if the game didn't exist. Now people are shut-ins afraid of ever speaking with anybody.

Way to go, Mr. Lyte. PhD in Cognitive Psychology, my ass.

I wonder if riot even knows what "reform" means. Maybe you should give them a link to dictionary.com or something in the OP.

I agree completely. If they have to ability to tell us the progress on our punishements, they they can tell us how close we are to reaching rewards.

All defining reformed would do is set a bare minimum for the toxic. Why do this? Keeping you in the dark works towards keeping you from being toxic.
