Don't Assume
I posted this in the old forums just before they were closed down, and just thought it would be a good time to repost it here, with a few updates for the Boards.
...That we're Rioters in disguise. Nope, sorry. If a Rioter is here, their name and title are red. There's a reason we call them 'Reds'
...That we're some kind of 'Cult of Riot' and always agree with everything they tell us. Not so much. most of us get annoyed when they don't communicate what's going on very well. We want to help people, but it makes it difficult if we don't know what's changed.
...That a copy/paste, macro, or linked response means we don't care about your situation. No, it just means the situation comes up so often we're not interested in typing up something new. Every. Single. Time.
...That it's personal. Again, no. We don't know you, you don't know us. A couple months from now, we won't even remember you and will have responded to dozens more threads with exactly the same issue.
...That we're all out to attack anyone who asks a question. To be honest, most of us prefer civil conversation. And as long as your responses stay civil, we might facepalm over some things you say while explaining our understanding of why Riot has certain policies, but we won't attack. Arguing for the sake of arguing, insulting us, or just coming out with a rage-filled post will most likely trigger the sarcasm reflex many of us develop as a way of coping with jerks.
