I just came up with a shocking, worrying and sad realization...

Ok, it has been a while since i had garbage ass games, the kind of games where your teamates should be slapped until they get purple handprints on their stupid ass faces but whatever, league is a garbage game managed by a garbage company so it's understandable, no biggie there.

I've played countless games with players that were yes retards, idiots, general assholes, pathetic puny people, cowards, self righteous hypocrites but this isn't nothing compared to what i'm about to say. I mean, i always thought people like trolls were playing like utter garbage on purpose just to attention whore, since they are weak and powerless in their real life so they come to this game to hold hostage people just to feel powerful for once in their life...

But that's not the whole truth...

Recently, i've started asking my teammates what was their age, and i've come trough a statistic anomaly that wasn't true let's say a couple of years ago...

THEY. ARE. UNDERAGED. KIDS.

I am literally playing with squealing retards that still stink from their momma's milk and they probably roll pieces of notebook paper filled with oregano in their mouths going around telling people they're smoking dank kush.

THESE KIND OF IDIOTS COULD ACTUALLY BE BEHIND THAT 0/11/1 MELEE KOG MAW WITH 30 CS AT 15 MINUTES THAT INSULTS IN A PATHETIC AND LAUGHABLE WAY FOR THE WHOLE MATCH AND STARTS INTING (after the 11 legit deaths) AND STEALING YOUR JUNGLE AND KILLING YOUR BUFFS JUST TO FEED THEM TO THE ENEMY TEAM, OR THE SUPPORT SHACO, OR THE JUNGLE TEEMO OR THAT SQUEALING DUMBASS THAT CAN'T STFU ABOUT ASKING FOR "reprots" WHEN HE'S ACTUALLY THE ONE TOXIC AND PLAYING POORLY.

Just... I don't accept it, I DON'T DESERVE THIS.

I've heard that in china there are several servers divided by elo, age and other factors where players can find their most suitable environment to play, i understand that it will cost money to make a similar thing on EUW or NA, but this problem needs to be addressed, either the kids start acting in a mature and acceptable way or this will be another drop in the "fuck this game, i'm donezo" bucket.

/mute all-ing them won't prevent them from starting to play bad out of spite just because i triggered their immature ego by pushing the wave after a gank or securing a kill that would otherwise have gone lost, or asking them to build a sightstone or not going malphite support.

Also, auto /mute all from the beginning of the match when? like the chat filter turned on/off, in the client settings

In many respects, I agree with you, though it's not necessarily to the same level/extreme. There are quite a few 14-18 year olds playing in the clubs that I'm a part of, and when they get in one of their bratty moods, I refuse to play with them. But it's not something that I necessarily hold against them, provided that they are not taking their angst out on the other players in the match. Most of the time, they are simply either overly cocky, or melodramatically tilted after a bad play, both of which are simply a part of them being a teenager. It isn't necessarily because their parents didn't raise them correctly, or because they are powerless in their real life. It's because they are at an age when their bodies are undergoing a rather extreme amount of physical and hormonal changes, which compounded with the stresses of everyday life makes it almost impossible for them to control their emotions in every situation. So, I tend to cut players a little slack when it comes to whining, or a bit of trashtalking. Because it might actually be something they cannot control, and if we're lucky one day they will grow out of it. It's only when it goes beyond that point that I start to truly have a problem with it, which is when I report players.

But one thing I don't agree with... is the following:

I'm not sure how old you are, but I'm 34 years old. Old enough that most of the players I encounter are younger than me. And the vehemence that you display towards the younger teenagers is actually fairly close to how I feel about players that talk the way you just did in the quote above. They're kids. What's your excuse? That's a hell of a lot of flame directed towards players that you will only see one time. You can mute them, report them and literally never see them again. But the truly sad thing, is that if you start flaming them in game the way you just did here, you run the risk of losing your account for it. Partly due to the amount of verbal abuse and harassment, but also because slurs against a mental handicap is considered hate-speech and can escalate you up to a first offense 14 day suspension or worse!

Yes, it is annoying as hell when some kid throws a tantrum in game and starts to troll, or pitch a flame-fit. But one of the first rules of the internet is Don't Feed The Trolls. And one of the first rules of life is Cover Your Ass. Trolls and brats are not worth the amount of time and irritation you are devoting to them.

I hate to bring up this card because I'm not one of those video games are for kids type of person but come on. You can't be upset that kids are playing LOL.

I don't get this hate of kids. If they are in your ELO or rank then they are close to your skill level. What's the problem? Is it how they act? Can you not mute just specific people. If you are going to play a game online or get on the internet you have to learn how to deal with people. There are plenty of adults who act like idiots also.

Splitting it up into age specific servers is just kind of ridiculous. It's going to skew ranked up quite a bit and not fix the problem of you not knowing how to react to idiots online. I know how people can be incredibly rage inducing, trust me I have my own rage moments I'm trying to work on also. Just realize you can't fix them, you can only change your reactions.

First, i'm pretty positive that i play at a diamond level since i've done it before, i occasionally do it and i'm not afraid of showing it off every game any time you want, i just don't play ranked for the same exact reason why i'm so mad at kids: they ruin my game experience, if i'm playing a game i want to have fun, not be bored and irritated for 20-30-40 minutes just cause... And trust me, playing against D2's it's barely entertaining, i would say that's level 0 of the game, the D5 meme is real. Also this is an old story i've already faced, i don't want to tell it again and again, don't project on me please.

Second, i DO NOT deal with people, if i come to your house and start pissing on your carpet i don't think you want to hear a cheesy stranger tell you "just learn how to deal with it bro, it's just piss after all, everybody pisses it's natural xd". I do deal with people, and if their parents didn't taught them not to play with their food when they are at the table, it's not my problem, i don't want to deal with that.

I love how my argument gets hijacked towards "LOL UR NOT DIAMOND LOL" simply because people are ACTUALLY so bad that they play at their level and can't improve simply because their brain is limited, tell me what this has to do with the problem i expressed above, you're just feeling hurt for some reason because you all have HUGE inferiority complexes so you feel the urge to project them on me.

Look at my cs, read the guide i wrote, play a game with me and see my mechanics, i've had dozens of diamonds i played with that were 100% convinced i was a smurf and were shocked why i didn't started playing rankeds in a regular basis, and i played in their same elo as well, now don't get me started on how riot manipulates matchmaking and shit, because if i had time and above all the patience to grind the boring ass games i could get diamond by playing nothing but 0 damage tryndamere, because that's enough to get to that level, ask around if you have any doubts, but for you scrubs even gold gets idolized as "high elo" and perceived as good, they aren't.

But it's better to mock me out of my normal games (which are levels of play you guys will never achieve anyway).

Hilarious how i address generally bad people and everybody that talks with me gets all personal, hurt and defensive, i think i touch a nerve every time...

Oh and since it wasn't the main topic of the discussion i don't have to back up jack shit, except for making you ragequit and have you team spam in all chat "report <player i crushed> for feeding" simply because i used common sense over him.

And again, i don't mind people insulting me, at worst i'll laugh about it, what i do mind is when i sit at my pc and i want to have a good time, i don't want to see games i singlehandedly won just because somebody felt like being "le funni guy xd" and ruin it willingly or not.

Normal mmr is different from ranked and generally people try less hard So you can play with diamonds and masters in norms because they really don't care about their normal mmr Where as its not the main topic you do in fact claim to be something you're not....

I really fucking wish, but i've come to the point that i've leaned the game so well that if i had to quit i would feel all my knowledge and 5 seasons of effort i put into the game go wasted in a second, and after all, if the game could be skimmed out from trolls, retards and questionable balancement (since riot likes to put the game in a balanced state just to feel pleasure in ruining it at the last second when everybody is enjoying it the most)

However by no means is riot fixing normal/ranked matches to screw you over. 3- How are these "kids" who are playing with you not on the same ground as you?

New questions 1- Why not just get to diamond, then make this same claim that people are trash, riot is trash, game is trash? 2- Why opt into a discussion board over a personal matter?

A tactical disagreement that resulted in my death and double buff transferred since i had to cheese a heal on scuttlecrab just because the mid laner refused to press Q. (Still doesn't justifies the inting and watching me die without lasthitting the kills and stuff like that, don't act holier-than-thou, you might fool people on your level, not me.)

1-I never said i was diamond, i said i play at the same skill level, D2-3 to be exact 2-I have plenty of matierial i'm too lazy to go gather and post, let's just say the most basic thing: garbage players at 70% winrate and normal players at 40%, a topic too vast to discuss about 3- I'll give you the benefit of doubt and assume you're trolling me.

1- No, i'm pretty unsatisfied with the game right now, when i win i'm more happy because i farmed stuff (champ levels, IP, chests and so on) rather than "Woah, i had amazing teammates and played a game with opponents that pushed me to my limits, that was really a fun game!"

And this isn't even a farming game like let's say WoW where you can build your own stash of items and be satisfied with that, this is an ability game so i guess that's the fun part.

Lol ok. Lets address it 1 by 1 as well.

  1. For guy and his diamond claims, I'm not a part of that argument. I don't care if that person is or isn't diamond. YOU however implied that they are "kids at same level, mute all, deal" (if thats an incorrect synopsis, correct me).
  2. My examples of salty people were random, and were also based off of real world encounters. Implying that I have a gender bias because of examples is deflection and diversionary from the point of maturity related to age.
  3. Adults can be dicks as well, so on the flip side a bad adult is just as bad an influence on innocent kids as an asinine teenager is to a guy/gal who isn't toxic and ragey. Toxic and ragey adult is less likely to be indulged by another, mature adult who "don't play that shit".
  4. Muting doesn't work in pre game or post game chats. I can also mute a raging child all day but another child/immature adult on my team may tilt by not following the same actions. if they are another child, then the likelihood of a raging person influencing them is higher due to lack of maturity and hitting the mute button. Also, muting doesn't stop afk trolls
  5. Susan is a female. Females have periods. Women can be emotional and irritable whilst on a period. Susan is not a woman. Susan is a girl. Susan playing league whilst on period is more likely to ruin someone's day. This example doesn't work for Jimmy. Jimmy can't have periods. Susan can however be racist on top of her period (pre-emptive strike on further bias arguments).
  6. If YOU have lowered your standard for competitive environments and don't think they SHOULD be civil, thats on YOU. As successful and mature individuals would point out, we should always be striving for the better and maintain our dignity. If the environment of competition has fallen below this standard, then action and higher standards SHOULD be upheld
  7. It is easier to uphold higher standards when you keep the kids with kids, as expectations then change.

Clearly 2-Men have hormonal imbalances as well (Irritable Male Syndrome) 3-Sure 4- This is a game, the audience isn't 40+ its in the 20's 5-Refer to 2 6- 7- Not really, we're matching skill to skill. If a 9 year old has a challengers skill level, we're not going to match him vs 9 year olds with bronze. Thats absurd 8- Everyone are, nobody is riot

Get off your high horse. You're currently unranked and only play normal games. If you want to HAVE A CHANCE to get a quality game, hop onto ranked. People play normal games to play casual. They want to overextend, they want to fight stupid fights. Normal games are for having fun and not to care too much about playing safe, that is boring.

Don't tell me you don't play ranked because of afk, trolls and idiots. You will never get out of it when you don't try. If you play like a diamond, you will make it to diamond. You might not achieve it within a week, maybe not within a month, but you will achieve it if you try and if you belong there.

You know, i have this "nice guy syndrome" which stops me from doing anything unless i can put my 200% into it, i really don't want to disappoint my companions and i get really hurt if they disappoint me, so far i played like 20~ish games in flex queue just to test the waters this season, and i always scored nothing less than an A+ (not counting the games where the only viable option was to wait in base for them to finish since it was before 20 min mark/they refused to surrend on purpose).

All that for what? to get to bronze V promos 100 lp. No thanks, my effort is not worth it, i'll probably start playing ranked again, but right now, i just can't take it. Also i want to stay on flex queue at that level on purpose, it will be like being the black belt guy that enters the dojo wearing the white one on purpose, it's my way to troll people. (i come from an age of the internet where trolling actually meant something...)

Oh and i'm not on any high horse, only you see it, my feet are well planted on the ground.

I don't care what ranked you are.

You're are equating an online competitive game with your own personal property. That sounds ridiculous. The problem is the game isn't your's. It's Riot's and they allow you to play it along with the general public.

A better analogy would be driving. Yea, people should follow the rules and be nice and not aggressive at all, but in reality not everyone does. But you have to be reactive/proactive if you want to avoid problems. That idiot didn't use his turn signals and almost caused an accident. You can react two ways, rage and get super upset or try to not let it bother you. Either way your react, you are more than likely not going to influence or affect that person at all. I know how upsetting it can be. I get filled with rage all the time. I try not to because I know it's not good for me. However instead of controlling people and forcing them to behave like I want them I would rather just fix my own self temperament to not let those people affect me.

You still skipped over my argument that anyone can be an idiot. If you can't deal with a little kid by muting him how are you going to deal with an adult who is acting the same way?

How would they even enforce age servers? Would players have to send in proof of age? That sounds just awful and very segregating.

Do you remember childhood, or are you still under 18? Either way you know there are lots of kids that are dicks for the sake of being dicks because life hasn't come around with the old experience stick and smacked their nuts for it yet. That being said, I fully support a an integration of age separation in this game because most "kids" I've come across in league are (you guessed it) immature and likely to say fuck the rules idc. I mean really, asking a League of Legends video game to "reform players" only works on the basis that all of your players are 1. mature enough to separate self from other 2. have the desire/capability to change If the schools, the parents, and the lives of the "kids" getting on hasn't curbed their possibly sadistic and narcissistic behaviour, League won't, and we the players don't deserve childishness to run the in-game experience

I've seen plenty of adults that are dicks whether or not life has smacked them for it yet. There are more adult dicks out there than you probably think. There's no adulthood requirement that says you can't be a dick. There's only an age requirement for being an adult.

How is your segregation tactic going to fix your games in the instance there are adult jerks? What happens if you get this segregation and figure it doesn't solve anything. More segregation?

I know I said this in another post but how would they even enforce this. Make proof of age a requirement to play in certain que pools? That just sounds like an awful idea.

I think it's better to have at least a little responsibility on the player to mute someone if they are being an idiot. Report them if they are doing something against the code of conduct. Stop trying to force people to be nice and behave how you want them to.

There are greater societal issues in what you are saying. While I am sure Riot would point out America has way more trolls than average. Add this to most have 2 parent working homes and their kids just do what they want.

Easiest solution is to not play the same hours that schoolkids can play period. It wont stop this childish trollish behavior altogether but it will slow it.

  1. I'm not making the suggestions for change out of some inability to enjoy the game. I'm obviously still playing. My mute button is my friend. These points were not about me, they were about observations of others.
  2. I'd like pig-headed actions and ally insults in game to stop from all parties. I'm giving observations and points, not blanket saying "all these kids ruin the game so f these kids. Its only these kids."
  3. I gave examples of shitty kids because shitty kids were the topic. I even said "not all kids are" and I also said "not all adults are".
  4. If I didn't give a long, structured blueprint of exact implementation and why it would work, then forgive me, your responses as if I had are reaching. I never said I'm Riot. I also don't have all of Riot's information.
  5. A lot of you are responding with insinuations that aren't either a.) unrelated to what my point is or b.) have too many assumptions to be related to my point

Look, balancing and matchmaking for any game has multiple factors to consider. Im asking one be added/considered for implementation because of possible benefits to the community. Sorry, children are more immature on average than adults. Thats a fact. To argue that "well adults are dicks too" completely leaves behind the environment argument. I argue that the two don't mix well on average. If you can't follow that logic I'm sorry lol. And if you can't add the factor in a way that wouldn't break matchmaking (putting 9yr old diamonds with 9yr old bronze) then too bad it doesn't work. Supposedly it does it in Asia though.

Are some of you really that upset at the suggestion? Astrovert is correct in saying that there are a lot more societal factors at play and that Riot won't solve all of them, but I also say to you others, going in uproar over something that hasn't even been attempted impedes progress

For those of you who believe "Well you can't change the world or other people, so change yourself", you're not wrong at the utility such an approach has to many aspects of life, but a game, like so many things is an agreement of sorts.

And if someone NEVER says "Wait a minute, what about sportsmanship, conduct, and integrity? Why are we as a group tolerating deviation and destruction of not oppressive, but GOOD values in our agreed environment?", then they will sadly disappear from expectation and not be taught to the next group.
