I've currently been permabanned for reasons i dont even think are correct. I've had a long journey this game was fun, i hope all of you the best i am currently done with this game through out the 2 weeks where i wasnt banned i wasnt toxic but for 2 games when i was not even that toxic and i was defending myself? I don't get it. Well guys i've had a fun time, but fun doesnt last forever, i guess this is my goodbye. Game 1 JumpScareSpears: Hey guys can you report warwick? So you were ban for being toxic. You acknowledge that in this post, but for what ever reason you aren't showing us the chatlogs they given you? If you want to have a discussion about your ban with the community the right thing to do is show us the evidence they have given you. We can't go by "I wasn't that toxic" because you obviously did something wrong to warrant the punishment.

Chatlogs are fine, because the only logs given to you are the lines you said, so it's up to you if you'd like to present them to the public or not.

Doesn't look like this should warrant a permaban. I don't see anything that screams 'toxic player' about this. I don't even think this would deserve a warning. Looks more like someone had it out for you. Good luck on this.

Thanks dude, I contacted riot about this. Edit: They denied me, saying that I was toxic or something about reforming but I clearly think I wasn't toxic and im sure a lot of people can agree on this.

To me this gives the impression that if someone has a bad KD that it's acceptable to be rude to them, It's not.

We get that Warwick was trolling but constantly reminding people about it is annoying and unneeded, not to mention that it won't stop the troll from trolling.

My verdict: Punish.

Well you could do so in a way that doesn't make you come off as a negative nancy so-to-speak there.

My verdict: Pardon.

Conclusion:

When someone is doing poorly and/or trolling you tend to go off on them for the entire game. You also tend to call for reports and make some passive-aggressive comments as well.

My Advice:

  • Don't call for reports, ever, as it's considered harassment. If you need to report someone then just do so after the game. 1 report is as good as 9 so there's no reason to ask other people to report someone.
  • A troll won't stop trolling if you start making passive-aggressive comments at them. If you've asked them to stop and they won't then just mute and report them after the game.
  • Try to spend less time typing and more time actually focused on the game itself. The more time that you spend typing up troll-related stuff the less time that you have to actually play the game itself.

My overall and final verdict: Punish.

P.S. While this specific case wasn't super toxic by itself, because Game 1 is punishable by itself, and because you have a history of acting up in-game and have already received at least 35-games worth of chat restrictions+a 2 week ban, that's why you received a permaban, because it's the next step up from a 2-week ban.

You are judged for your actions and your actions alone, and someone else behaving poorly doesn't excuse your own poor behavior. You can defend yourself so long as it's done in a neutral or positive manner, but the moment that you start harassing them back is when it's no longer you defending yourself, it's just you being a jerk. From Understanding the Tribunal:

4) That player in my game was far worse than me. Why am I banned??? a) I'll keep this one simple: retaliation isn't OK. Reacting to a toxic player by being toxic just incites that player to be even worse--it also ruins the game for up to 8 other players. It is far, far worse to watch two people yelling at each other all game than it is to watch 1 player ranting into blank space. Almost everyone in the game can find someone out there that behaves worse than they do--but so what? Finding someone worse doesn't justify your behavior or justify retaliation. We expect more out of our players. What players often don't realize is... those other players in your game that you thought were worse? Nearly 100% of the time, those players were banned even before you were. If someone is being toxic, just report them and move on. If you retaliate, both of you will be banned. It's really that simple.

Also, you did receive chat bans before, but neither they nor a 2-week ban stopped you from acting up, hence why you received a permaban this time around.

Again, there's a difference between defending yourself and retaliating back. In that situation the correct response is to just mute and report them rather than add fuel to the fire. Verbal abusers want you to retaliate negatively so that they can take you down with them, but if you just mute and report them you don't give them what they want. Not only that, but chances are that they'll just continue to add to the evidence that's already against them.

Bottom line: You can ask someone in a respectful manner to stop behaving like a jerk, but if they refuse to do so then just mute and report them after the game. By doing this you ensure that only they get reported rather than the both of you.

I'm sorry to tell you the truth but a lot of people are toxic, so I have to do this over and over again then I don't wanna do it when it becomes a pain in the ass, also nobody asks someone to stop being a jerk as that results in even MORE harassment towards you putting you on tilt and ruining the entire game turning you into an asshole: towards other players due to tilt I know it's our fault partially for getting mad but it's also theirs something you clearly have probably not experienced this which is making me mad. Yes allot of people are toxic, but the truth of the matter is is that being toxic back doesn't solve anything and only makes the situation worse.

First off, please try to not use big run-on sentences in the future, as it makes it hard for people to understand what you're trying to say.

Second off, believe it or not it is actually possible to ask someone to stop being toxic without being a jerk while doing so. Maybe it's not for you but it is for others.

Third off, you're right in that if both of you start acting like jerks in the game then the fault lies with both of you. That's why you use the mute feature if someone won't stop raging in the chat. to prevent yourself from falling into their trap.

Fourth off, you're assuming that I've never experienced this and are mad because I'm not giving you the answers you want to hear. I've been playing this game since S2 and I've experienced my fair share of jerks in the game over the years (everyone in this forum has). We're not hear to say what you want to hear, but rather what you need to hear instead. What you do with that information though is completely up to you and you alone.

The 80%. One was the asking for reports is harassment? It's like asking hey can you do something for me and they say no so I leave em alone but you think it's still harassment. The other 60% I know bro everyone does. I just don't like people who think they're the justice of the community , a.k.a self righteous people. Calling for reports doesn't do anything anyways since not only is one report is as good as nine are but it also won't magically make someone stop acting up and/or play better either-if anything it'll just cause them to act up even more and/or play worse than they already are.

If you mean the forum regulars here then we're just trying to get people to understand what happens when they choose to act up and what they can do to avoid getting in trouble in the future. this being the case they need to either eliminate hidden report weight or make it so it's no longer hidden. people feel like they have to ask for reports, because theyre worried thier own are weightless due to the sheer number of reports they hand out even if theyre valid

I understand your concerns and agree that Riot could do a better job of explaining this to players. However, as long as people are making actual valid reports and not just reporting because someone beat them or some other invalid reason like that then they'll never have to worry about their reports being meaningless or weightless.

I've seen, and said a lot worse than this. If someone is trolling then they deserve to be reported so asking for them to be reported isnt harassment and thats nonsense. How people react to being flamed/harassed/trolled is normal and i would tell people to report warwick and i would call him an asshole if people asked because he is. He's trolling not only me but my team as well and harassing me, why am i the one to get banned? That makes no sense, Riot's toxicity problem has never been managed well and they only ban toxic chat not toxic play. i can mute you but i cant mute your trolling/intentional feeding. This is quite simply stupid and if i were banned for that JumpScare I wouldnt even want to come back because that's really shitty of Riot. I typically love Riot and defend them on reddit posts and forums but this is just pathetic.

^ 1000 USD spent on the account too, I'm done with this game. Riot just wants your money so I'm quitting for the same reasons as video game donkey, and my own. They also wouldn't even unban my account "under any circumstances" this is very sad and pathetic of riot I agree with you 100%.

Honestly, I couldn't tell ya. Maybe a few weeks ago on my EUW account with some friends. I'd play more, but recently I've been working 40+ hours at my job, and have taken up more responsibilities following the resignation of one of the team leads. On top of driving an hour to and from work, I've very little time to play. Once they (eventually) hire someone to replace the position, I'll be back.

Just wondering, Ironically i actually work 46 hours a week (7 days, 3 hours on weekends) and also have a one hour drive but i stay up way too late so i can play league lol! try to be open minded with me here, if you played ranked regularly, were a below average (probably bronze) player, dealt with the flame/trolls/feeding daily, do you really think what he did; which to me was something i see almost every match was perma ban worthy? If so, tell me why he deserves it more than the prevailing 70+% of bronze players that are 10 times more vulgar/racist/rude/careless. I'm not being demanding, i just wanna know what sticks out to you because it seems extremely unreasonable to me

I was in Bronze 5 in season 4. Climbed out during the last day of the season, considerably the most toxic and angry day of the season. Aside from on game with a racist Shen, everyone seemed about as chill as I've seen in Silver/Low Gold.

Then you've been outrageously lucky. It took them months to ban Tyler1 who openly trolled and shit talked the master/challenger community and took Meteos himself emailing Riot to get him banned. Yet this guy says to report someone and he gets banned for life?

No I just abused Thresh/Leona freelo. Besides, a game becomes bad if you let it become bad. Mindset is 90% of the game. Playing SSBM competitively gives you a great outlook on misplays, because you look at what YOU could have done better.

I agree 100%, this season I've adopted the mute everyone and blame myself for every loss mindset. Ive not dropped at all, since i made it to silver (from b3) ive lost only one match (now silver 4 so not a big deal but still) I dont play rankedoften because i often only have time for a couple matches and i spend it with friends, but thats not to say the toxic community doesnt exist. youre not really standing against the fact that he shouldnt be banned. Sure there are calmer less talkative people but not everyone is like that and what he said shouldnt be so severely punished imo
