The word retard used as an insult is most certainly hate speech. It is implying that someone is lesser or stupid because of a disease they have no control over. It is no less than using the "n" word to describe someone you do not like.

Hate speech is speech which attacks a person or group on the basis of attributes such as race, religion, ethnic origin, sexual orientation, disability, or gender.

Having a developmental illness is a disability. The word "retard" is used to attack people based on their disability. Thus, it is hate speech.

They consider calling someone "retard" to be hate speech. Problem solved. Nothing to see here. The thing that the N word, F6t word, and retard have in common, is they're all problems that the person has no control over. They didn't choose to be that way. So I guess that means you're disparaging a group of people who were born the way they are, and that constitutes hate speech. Idk, I think that's how it works.

even if you use the politically correct term "mentally challenged", they will say you are negative and ban you anyway. even if you say "can you play smarter" that will be construed as negative criticism and you will be banned. so you should use positive terms to construct your dialogue e.g. "the sky is beautiful and blue and so are you, ward the river and i will buy some strawberries for you"

Because there's more than enough 'prior' incidences where you've done this probably. Remember the system has access to ALL of your past negative reports and everything else so it probably looks for what they consider 'trends' in negative behavior and then pops you once you've hit the specific threshold for negative behavior. it has nothing to do entirely with just that game.

Not to mention you called players bad and demeaned their intellect - which in current riot speech is toxicity

Also you requested other players to report another. That's a double no-no according to riot.

Fair? I dunno. I do my best to not communicate outside pings for a reason. If i do talk in chat its usually stuff like X champion blah blah alongside a ping, or when a team member is raging about losing their lane I suggest that building x item may help. Outside of this I think its best to NOT talk to my fellow players because its just not worth it to do so. It incites too much tilt TBH

It's the only game listed, also the account is barely played on in the last year, so I doubt it. The fact that a chat restriction was skipped for something so fucking tame boggles my mind.

The punishment tiers are:

not punished 10 game chat restriction 25 game chat restriction 14 day ban permanent ban

When a penalty is issued, it gives the next penalty on the list from where the account was. It is possible to have the punishment tier decay to the previous level, but that takes 3-6 months of regular playing (that shows improved behavior). Time by itself doesn't do anything to previous punishments.

Just because its the only game listed does not mean that that was the only game you were 'toxic' in those manners. Usually the chat logs posted are of whats considered 'current' games. Your also forgetting that the ban system is now largely monitored by a computer system that parses all your text from ALL the games it has available. Welcome to how the system works just like in the real world, if you put it there expect it to be cataloged and stored for future reference. I really really don't think that Riot put a stipulation in there where you can have the account 'cool off' by not playing it either. Instead it probably sees something a little more simplistic. Possibly something like your account has been recorded doing x over y amount of games - here's your ban.
