Why is giving up on a game punishable?

There is some games you're just not going to win no matter what. If my teammates are going to waste my time and not surrender, I'm going to waste theirs by farming all game and not assisting in defending our base. And also buy random items that make 0 sense.

Giving up is not punishable. You're free to surrender the game at any time past the 20 minute mark.

However, until that surrender vote has succeeded you are part of a live game that has not been forfeited, and as such you are expected to play your part. You're part of a team, and if you're not actively assisting your team you are instead assisting the enemy team, which is a punishable offense.

Because it's the same as trolling...?

Because there's always a chance of winning. If you don't want to keep playing fine, but that's not an excuse to actually stop playing the game. When you accepted the queue you accepted the game no matter how long, short, difficult, easy, stompy, or even it may be.

I see every game that doesn't go your way you intentionally feed. No one wants to play with a feeding baby.
