A rant about surrenders and people giving up too easilly

Ugh. Out of my past losses, maybe 1 of them were because we as a team were actually overall being outclassed by the enemy team. Every other game would've been winnable, if not for one thing-

People throwing tantrums, trying to ff, and trolling when the ff vote doesn't go through. This "g'o next" attitude when the team isn't even that far behind is so INSANELY INFURIATING. Why would we go next when this game is perfectly winnable? Why lose LP when we don't have to? Why don't you, instead of flaming a teammate in chat and saying "gg trash x laner" in all chat, actually work with the team to try to come back?

Hell, a lot of these games we actually have a lead in, but someone on the team makes a mistake THEN EVERYONE GIVES UP. It's not just my team either. I SEE THIS IN ALL CHAT IN ALMOST ALL OF MY VICTORIES TOO! WHY IS THIS COMMUNITY LIKE THIS?

It's getting to the point where I might quit the game because of this. I love the game, it's super fun to play, but it just gets old dealing with essentially grown adult babies every single game I queue up for.

This a direct correlation to the "chat" focus of punishment over behavior. Competitive people tend to be passionate and don't mix well with "non-competitive" players.

So when a competitive players start getting banned for flaming a teammate thats given up and/or doesn't care as much about winning, whose side is Riot on? The person receiving the bm regardless of circumstance.

Basically its a shitty implementation of good intentions. There's too much emphasis on how people talk and not enough on the game itself. Mute should be emphasized more, chat reports should weigh less, and people griefing/giving up/trolling should be attacked in full force----- if this game wants to keep a decently skilled player base that is

No matter how you slice the morality of chat its driving better skilled players away and killing pro level rivalries

That is because the quality of gamers today is horrible. Many low elo players when given a crutch (IE, the surrender button) will abuse the hell out of it so they can go ruin another game faster instead of actually learning how to play the game. Having the surrender option at low elo is beyond stupid because most players abuse it. But that is the world we live in today where everyone goes out of their way to coddle the inept. It's no wonder why many children and 20 something's have a really hard time navigating real life. You can see it everyday as I do dealing with them in all walks of life.
