Someone flames me and I get a chat restriction

riot logic

if you flamed back, yes you deserve it. you are now just as toxic by retaliating.

TheWizardM1 votes

I probably do to be honest, but considering the amount of flame I see others output, it seems Riot is extremely inconsistent with ppunishing it. My opponent who flamed me didnt get punished (unless they removed the thing where you get a message when someone you reported gets punished).

FOR JUSTICE5 votes

they didn't remove it, it just doesn't always appear, so he may have been punished too. plus for all we know it could have been his very first offence, and thus hasn't been punished due to a lack of him doing it.

Its not "someone flames me and i get chat restricted". Its "i flamed someone and i got chat restricted". The bot doesnt even look at other peoples logs.

Care to post the chat logs you're given as evidence?

TheWizardM1 votes

Nah. Not worth the effort. (Also I dont know how to get them). I dont need it to be reverted or anything by any means, Just found it funny.

Re-log into the client and you should be presented with them.

You don't get chat restricted for someone else flaming you - only if you violate the rules yourself.

TheWizardM2 votes

Does the chat log highlight the reasons why I got a restriction? That would be useful for the future. Also, technically, Riot can ban/restrict anyone without a reason. Not that they7 do, but they can.

FOR JUSTICE3 votes

the logs give examples as to what behavior is unacceptable. usually people on PB post them to have the community give insight.

Okay found it. I'll post them later (I gtg an its opened on another pc). It basically boils down to me saying "fucking" alot, making a sarcastic comment about him banning my champion, refusing to help him, and asking the enemy team to end becuase two premades were preventing a surrender.

I did not use any slurs, attack him personally, or tell him to do negative things though.

FOR JUSTICE2 votes

swearing is never bannable, rito doesn't actually care how much you swear, so its likely from an overall negative attitude that you got chat restricted. because it sounds like you gave up pretty early on.

TheWizardM1 votes

No, I did not. I gave up around 20 minutes, at which point our team was 8k behind. We lost the early game due to an early invade, and 2/3 lanes were behind. I did nt give up on the game, though I did refuse to help my adc, as I absolutely cannot stand people who ban their teammate's champions to then complain about how badly the team is doing.

Swearing is fine. Swearing at someone crosses the line.

refusing to help him

This is absolutely bannable. Like, it's even specifically called out on the support pages.

and asking the enemy team to end becuase two premades were preventing a surrender.

As is this.

TheWizardM1 votes

No it isn't. Intentionally losing the game is. I was refusing to help him specifically, not refusing to try and win the game.

Our base was open for 10 minutes. Also, this just goes to the inconsistency, as I've seen plenty of players do this without getting punished.

Karunamon1 votes

No it isn't.

Yes, it is. Like I said, right off the support pages

Reportable Behavior

4) Report a Summoner for not focusing on the team aspect of the game

That's about as direct an example as it gets, man. You may not intentionally refuse to help someone else on your team.

Also, this just goes to the inconsistency, as I've seen plenty of players do this without getting punished.

You don't know what the other player's behavior history is, or their punishments beyond getting banned.

TheWizardM1 votes

I did not do that? One person does not constitute a team. If anything, that's a reason for me to report him, as he banned my champion in champ select and was complaining about the team as a whole.

Karunamon1 votes

Lemme see if I get this straight.

The screenshot straight off the support pages (so, authoritative) gives an example of "I am not helping you top". Clearly directed at a single person.

Your response to that, the game where you singled out another person saying you refuse to help them, is to say "but one person doesn't constitute a team".

[sg-lux-2]

Well, I'm stumped. If you can't see the connection here, there's no helping you.

You're more than welcome to continue arguing with me about it, but I'm not the one that's going to be taking your account away if you don't change your behavior. I'm telling you how the system works and what isn't allowed. Take the advice, or don't. You're the one who's gonna suffer the consequences.

as he banned my champion in champ select

People are allowed to ban any champion they want for any reason, including not wanting to play against, or play with. This is not reportable or trollish.

TheWizardM1 votes

I did not see the text in the screenshot, as it is quite small.

The link you jsut posted does not mention or imply this whatsoever.

Karunamon1 votes

The link goes directly to the text I quoted with that exact screenshot under it..

TheWizardM1 votes

It doesn't imply the part about the bans... There's a reason I put whitespace in between.

{quoted}

Nah. Not worth the effort. BC he was prob toxic back and does not want to show his side. Riot does not play the game of who started it. They only play the game of who said something offensive, negative, or insulting to another player. That or if you threatened to or actually afk
