AFK in ranked issue especially in bronze and silver

So i am in bronze 3 at the moment and one issue i have encountered while trying to reach higher ranks is the consistent amount of trolls and afk players through my games at one point i hit bronze 2 and had a whole day to play, i played 12 games and 6 of them had players who fed a lane about 4 kills then dc and the other 2 had people inting and going 0/20 so i ended up back at bronze 4 this revolving issue has made me, as a consistent player feel the need to become very toxic something i generally try to stray from and not be able to get into higher ranks where i can enjoy the game more because my skill level at this point is way higher than a average bronze player.

Getting out of bronze was easy for me. So easy, in fact, that I got out of it like 4 times since the season started.

From my experience, AFKing got better in gold.

For the longest time I was frustrated with ranked because so many people would AFK and so I would just get to silver and just take the rewards. Then a skin that I wanted was there and then I actually just toughed through silver AFKers and went to gold and magically, the AFK rates dropped drastically.

It's tough but you have to work through the tough games and then it gets better.

I can tell you from my own personal experience that afking happens significantly less in gold than it does in silver. That being said, I do feel like there has been a rather large influx of afking players lately. Not quite sure why, I'm guessing it might be connected to players transferring to the new client or maybe I've just been extremely unlucky lately. Regardless, I agree with op that I, as well as I'm sure many other players, would like for a better solution to combat afk players in ranked. Sure I can report them after game, but is that supposed to bring me satisfaction? I still just played one of the most miserable games possible in League and lost LP as a reward for my already terrible experience.

in gold maybe (people regard gold as heaven when it comes to toxicity).

You should see what happens in low plat and low diamond.
