So after quite of bit of time playing this game for fun and joking around with friends, for my first time ever, I have been banned. Verbal Abuse. After many years of joking and trolling in chat while carrying my team to victory, I finally got banned for something of elementary school level.

I thought muting people was to prevent having to see these things. What makes this even worse, is that I was reported by at least one of my intentionally feeding teammates. I'm surprised I was banned for 14 days and they weren't even so much as punished, even after admitting that they were feeding and being 100x more toxic than I was in that little bit of chat dialogue. Wtf Riot? What a joke of a ban.

This log contains spamming, which I might grant you is, as you put it, elementary school level toxicity.

However, it also contains encouragements to self-harm and hate speech, neither of which is at all acceptable in a friendly game.

"Friendly Game" The depths of Insanity are limitless here. People literally telling other People to harm themselves because they either: Doing Great And they have to Show the enemy how bad they are. Or Trash talk em how they are bronzies. Id say to fix all of this lets just remove the Chat, At this Point its just impossible to Reform dem toxic peops. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

I honestly think there should be a certain level of balance in assessment. There are too many triggering players who immediately blame others on there misbehavior and mistakes, and when you are trying to win so hard you might not be patient enough to let it slide. Riot needs to be fair in assessing this behavior, for example my honor progress was hindered by riot because I simply was telling a harassing individual off, defending myself is apparently not allowed. Additionally my honor progress has not recovered yet.

On the other hand, I am one hundred percent against telling anyone in any manner to kill them selves, this might trigger people psychologically to do it. And no they are not weak because they might!!! They just need help.

I honestly hope that one day in LoL we would have friendly games where we help and teach one another instead of flaming without offering any useful solutions, otherwise removing chat completely sounds like a great Idea.

This... isn't "elementary school". You used hate speech repeatedly here as well as told someone to kill themselves, over a video game.

You should not need a warning that type of behavior is not appropriate in League - or any game really.

Trolling and intentional feeding is also 14 day bans once the game is reviewed and confirmed.

It's a rule, but it should be common sense that you don't say stupid stuff that is emotionally harmful to people.

You used hate speech and encouraged self harm, both of which escalate punishments to the 14 day ban usually.

Muting does not prevent people from seeing what you say. I blame phones for that misconception. Think of mute like you would a television. It mutes the sound so you can't hear it. So muting here prevents you from seeing what others say.

Give them time and they may get punished.

"kys" literally means "kill yourself". You are literally telling someone to commit suicide. You are saying that "kys" is a joke, which is the same as saying you believe suicide is a joke.

If you don't want to tell someone to commit suicide, don't tell them to commit suicide.

I thought one of the biggest jokes online was Rickrolling. I've never heard telling people to kill themselves was a joke at all, honestly.

As a rule of thumb, jokes are supposed to be funny. Telling people to kill themselves isn't. It's petty, spiteful, and vitriolic - and over a videogame, I'd hazard to say it's outright pathetic.

Are you an expert on every single person in the game. Do you know every detail about someones life? Do you know their hardships and consider this game (or any other for that matter) is their escape from depression they may have?

People have killed themselves because random people have told them to over the internet.

Are you going to tell some random stranger that you are partnered with to "kill yourself" in real life? Because there would be consequences with that most likely too.

Muting people is so others can prevent themselves from seeing this stuff.

Riot is punishing you for saying it. Doesn't really matter if others can avoid it, Riot doesn't want you saying it in the first place.

The only joke here is how this managed to sneak up on you. I mean no offense by saying this, but considering you came to the Boards to post this, and this sort of post happens literally every day around here with the same exact responses, and the fact that you agreed to the Terms of Service, this should in no way surprise you.

If you want to joke around with people do it in voice chat, where Riot can't punish you for what you see as humor. Humor is not universal after all.

Aye man you think this is bad, when I got my 14 day ban I was carrying and had a Janna support that decided to support top instead of me the adc. I tried to encourage her to play the game we can win but she’s refused and my jungler was swearing and losing his shit. But take it in, I didn’t swear once in the game lmao
