That doesn't matter to the system. Using that language in any context can get you banned.

I get that it wasn't directed at anyone, and that's good, but it still creates a hostile game environment for some folks, so they take a pretty hard line on it.

In cases like this that I've seen before, it wasn't the first offense. If you were off a 14 day sometime somewhat recently, then the system is working as intended. I hope that clears things up.

this game is rated T for teens, and if you need to permanently ban someone for typing it once or twice then something is really wrong with the chat system, though it does clear it up for me, especially since i never knew that they added such a thing to the rulebook. thanks for letting me know that this game has turned to absolute kid shit while i was playing for 8 years

well apparently it has been okay since so many of my friends and i have typed it several times in the past as a joke and never got a warning. i came to play the game to have fun and joke around, not get fucked by some childish rules

so you are saying that me typing 2 homophobic slurs is typing it "all the time" and that these random players i havent played with knew that ive used it in the past? not childish for being offended so much that they arent able to handle it? this game is pretty damn good in gameplay, but has changed in what IS and ISN'T allowed....oh what is next, you arent allowed to curse?

The forum has no power to undo your punishments. Only player support does. The forum can only help to explain why you got punished based on your reform card.

To dispute whether or not the hate speech to refer to yourself, you have to open a support ticket. Just remember, they have full chat logs, which means they see more than what you post on the forums and while we have to guess the context of your hate speech, player support sees the full context.

If you did not use it to refer to yourself as you claim, you will not get a reversal of your permanent ban.

Riot punishes homophobic content severely. And it doesn't matter if you're talking about yourself. Imagine if literally anyone that had to see that was a gay or bi dude. That word is a pretty serious slur when used by almost anyone. There's no context in a game wherein you don't know all the other people playing to use a word with such a loaded and violent history of use. Simple as that.

It's simple: normally, that would be a 14-day ban as riot has zero tolerance for this sort of behavior. However, he admitted to have gotten off a 14-day ban. Standard procedure is that any punishment after that is a permaban seeing as you're essentially on thin ice. OP didn't so much break it as smash it with a sledgehammer.

Also, "%%%" and "%%%" are derogatory terms for homosexual. Meaning, it's homophobia and therefore, hate speech.
